A 10-year-old boy and his father was recently held by the police after the former demanded Rs. 3 crores ransom from a Haldwani based doctor after watching a Tony Kakkar video. According to reports, the Uttarakhand police were sent into tizzy after a Haldwani doctor received a ransom call of Rs 3 crores.
The doctor was identified as Dr. Vaibhav Kuchhal, a senior ENT specialist running his own hospital. The ENT specialist received the ransom call earlier on May 9, and Uttarakhand police were baffled after receiving no major leads regarding the case. Further investigation led police to a 10-year-old YouTuber who had watched Tony Kakkar’s music video on YouTube called “No. likh 98971”.
The 10-year-old dialed a few combinations of the rest of the five digits and somehow, ended up calling the ENT specialist. On the call, the 10-year-old boy demanded a ransom of Rs. 3 crores and threatened that if the doctor fails to pay that, his son would be kidnapped.
The doctor filed a complaint with the police and the police swung into investigation. With electronic surveillance, it was finally revealed that the boy made the ransom call when his parents were away.
The Facts of the Matter
Technology in the right hands can do miracles, and in wrong hands, can cause mayhem. Recently, a 10-year-old boy and his father were held by the Uttarakhand police for their involvement in an extortion case. Reportedly, the 10-year-old boy had made a ransom call to Haldwani doctor and demanded Rs. 3 crores after watching a Tony Kakkar song. The boy and his father were held from Hapur, Uttar Pradesh.
According to reports, the boy called an Haldwani ENT specialist Dr. Vaibhav Kuchhal and demanded Rs. 3 crores from him, threatening that his son would be kidnapped. Dr. Kuchhal, who owns his own hospital, took to the police and filed a complaint.
Police Swings Into Action, Traces Number from Hapur, UP
Based on the complaint, a Special Operation Group swung into action and initiated an investigation. The SOG put the caller’s number on electronic surveillance. The number appeared to have originated from a colony in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh.
A police team in Hapur rushed to the location and held an owner of furniture shop to much of his shock. During the questioning that followed, shocking facts about the case emerged. Reportedly, the number belonged to the father of an 8-year-old boy. When the boy’s parents were away earlier on Monday this week, he decided to put his spare time to some mischievous news.
Boy Got Inspired from Tony Kakkar’s “No. Likh 98971”
The child, who had watched Tony Kakkar’s music video called “No. Likh 98971”, took inspiration from the song. A head boy from his class and extremely tech savvy, the boy started calling a few combinations of the remaining five digits of the number and ended up connecting to the Haldwani-based ENT specialist.
Boy an Avid Gamer and YouTuber, Released After Counselling
According to the police, the 10-year-old boy is also an avid gamer and a YouTuber himself. After the interrogation, the child was taken to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and was let go following a counselling.
Interestingly enough, the Haldwani-based doctor is still unhappy with the theory of the child calling him for ransom. Reportedly, the doctor has some differences within his family and believes someone from his family playing tricks on him.
