11 years ago, on this day, the whole world was shocked after 10 terrorists took their filthy game of guns and Grenades to the streets of Mumbai. The infamous attacks of 26/11 completed 11 years today. It all started when 10 trained terrorists of Lashkar-E-Taiba entered Mumbai through sea-coast by hijacking a fishing boat and conducted a mass-killing by opening fire. Hundreds of victims lost their live in the terror attacks that took place at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Mumbai Chabad House, The Oberoi Trident, The Taj Palace & Tower, Leopold Cafe, Cama Hospital, The Nariman House, the Metro Cinema, and in a lane behind the Times of India building and St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai.

The attacks which lasted four days killed 166 people and injured over 300, were the brainchild of whose terrorist mastermind, Hafiz Saeed of the Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD).

They infiltrated International Waters to enter India from Karachi, Pakistan by hijacking a fishing boat and killing 4 of the 5 crew members and entered Mumbai at night under the cover of darkness.

After their entry in the city, Ajmal Amir Kasab & Ismail Khan carried out an open fire attack at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway station killing 58 people and injuring over 100 people.

The 2nd attack was carried out at Nariman House business and residential complex killing a Rabbi, his wife, and six others, including five Israeli citizens while a two-year-old child of the Rabbi couple, Moshe, survived in the attack.

The further attack followed at the 140+-year-old Leopold Café, which is right behind the Taj Hotel in Colaba. The attack was conducted by 4 terrorists who then entered the iconic Taj hotel, where they killed around 31 people during a three-day siege at the hotel.

Another infiltration happened at the Oberoi Trident Hotel, almost at the same time, where two terrorists entered the hotel. The Oberoi siege ended on 28th November evening after the two terrorists, who killed as many as 30 people, were shot dead.

The Taj attack & siege got terminated on the morning of November 29th after the National Security Guards (NSG) gunned down the last terrorist of the 4 and secured the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

Until then a total of 160 people had lost their lives and 300 innocents had been injured while 9 terrorists were gunned down by the security forces and 1 surviving terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab had been captured alive. He was sentenced to death at Yerwada Central Jail in Pune in 2012.

It has been 11 years since the attacks, but the mastermind behind the attacks Hafiz Saeed has not yet been caught. While the Indian government has declared him as a terrorist, and India’s run has been supported by many International personalities including a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director and former Afghanistan President, Hafeez has not been caught yet.

The stream of terror attacks from Pakistan has never ended and the terrorist camps in the country have carried out major terror attacks in the country including URI in September 2016 & Pulwana in 2019, killing several Indian soldiers.

While the Indian government has avenged the death of the Indian martyrs with 2 surgical strikes, destroying multiple terrorist camps, the terror organisations are yet fostering in the terror-fertile lands of Pakistan.

Also, the Indian government has set-up NSG hubs in major cities to enable faster responses to the terror attacks and several policies have been made to strengthen the anti-terrorism framework of India.
