In an inspiring development, a 12-year-old boy from Jhajjar has made into the Guinness Book of World Records by being the youngest application developer in the world.

Kartikeya Jakhar, a class 8 student from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, recently developed three applications, and in process, got himself into the book of records, and the prestigious Harvard University. The development comes just weeks after a 15-year-old boy from Nagpur received a Rs 33 lakh package after winning a web development competition.

According to reports, 12-year-old Kartikeya started learning more about coding and application development, after his father bought a mobile phone for online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to YouTube, Kartikeya started grasping the concepts of coding, and learnt how to execute them.

Kartikeya has reportedly made three applications тАУ Lucent GK Online, Ram Kartik Learning Centre, and Shri Ram Kartik Digital Education. The applications are currently offering training to over 45,000 students across the nation.

He is an outstanding talent and I want that he shall serve the nation in digital technology. Our village has high power cuts but KaritkeyaтАЩs zeal is so high that he is managing all crises.тАЭ

Meet the Youngest App Developer in the World

Take 12-year-old Kartikeya for an instance. While he does come from a small town in Haryana called Jhajjar, it hasnтАЩt stopped him from learning and growing. So much so that the 12-year-oldтАЩs name has been written in the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest application developer in the world.

How Kartikeya Started Learning Coding

A class 8 student from the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kartikeya reminiscence about how he started learning coding. In an interview to media, Kartikeya mentioned how during COVID-19 pandemic, his father, a farmer, spent Rs. 10,000 to get him a mobile phone for online learning.

Although his mobileтАЩs screen was scratched, that didnтАЩt stop him from getting in the world of zeroes and ones, and start learning more about coding. He took help of YouTube to learn concepts related to programming, and started executing them in real world as well.

Making 3 Apps At the Age of 12 Yrs

Putting his learning into real world, Kartikeya went on to develop three apps. тАЬI made three apps- the first app was related to General Knowledge named Lucent G.K. online. Second app was Ram Kartik Learning Centre that teaches coding and graphic designing. The third app was Shri Ram Kartik Digital Education,тАЭ he said, as quoted in a Hindustan Times report.

Scholarship from Harvard University

By developing the three applications, he became the youngest developer in the world. Further, he has been awarded a scholarship after qualifying the entrance exam of the prestigious Harvard University, and is currently studying B.Sc in CS from the university.
