In a shocking incident reported from the national capital, a 14-year-old girl allegedly cooked up a fake molestation story in order to avoid being scolded by her parents as she got poor marks in her exams.

In a shocking and heartbreaking turn of events, a 14-year-old girl studying in Class 10th in the national capital turned to self-harm and false allegations to divert her parents’ attention from her poor performance in an examination. With her academic performance falling short of expectations, the young girl felt the weight of societal expectations and feared disappointing her parents.

Desperate for a way out, the girl cut herself with a blade and concocted a story of molestation by two to three unknown boys. Her parents, outraged and concerned for their daughter’s safety, filed a complaint with the police, leading to a full-scale investigation of the alleged incident.

However, as the police reviewed CCTV footage near the supposed crime scene, they found no evidence of the incident taking place. Eventually, the truth came out when the girl revealed that she had harmed herself and falsely accused the boys out of fear of disappointing her parents.

After the girl confessed to concocting the story, she was produced before the magistrate, and the case was ultimately nullified and canceled.

The act of concocting false sexual allegations against someone who is innocent is a despicable and damaging act that can ruin lives and reputations. Unfortunately, such false allegations are not uncommon, and they can have serious and long-lasting consequences for the falsely accused.

Girl Gets Bad Marks, Makes False Accusations

According to reports, the 14-year-old girl from Delhi cut herself with a blade and created a fake story to avoid being scolded by her parents for not performing well in her exams. She falsely alleged that she had been assaulted and molested by three boys who also caused injuries to her hands. The incident was reported on March 15 at the Bhajanpura police station in northeast Delhi.

Investigation Kicks Off, Truth Revealed

Upon investigation, the police found that the CCTV footage showed the girl wandering alone and there was no sign of any assault or molestation. The police counselled the girl and she finally revealed the truth that she had a social studies exam that didn’t go well and was afraid of her parent’s reaction. She went to a general store near her school and purchased some snacks and a blade. She then went to a secluded area and harmed herself with the blade.

Case was Registered Under POCSO, Cancelled Later

After the girl confessed to the truth, the police withdrew the case that they had registered under relevant sections of the POCSO Act and the Indian Penal Code sections of molestation and kidnapping. The girl was taken to a magistrate and her statement was recorded wherein she confessed that she had harmed herself and levelled false allegations.

The police have cancelled the case, but this incident brings to light a larger issue of people concocting false stories and making fake sexual allegations against innocent people. Such cases not only waste the time and resources of the police but also have a negative impact on the lives of those falsely accused.
