As an Indian Citizen, we’ve grown to believe that our politicians are corrupt, illogical & above all illiterate. Well, it’s not 100% our fault as we have grown streaming Bollywood movies, which told us that politicians are cruel, villainous and corrupt. We live in a nation, where reality is inspired by movies, more than movies inspired by reality.

However, it is not the case for 100% of politicians. Keeping corruption, scamming, false promises, idiotic allegations and everything else apart, there are some politicians in Indian Political system that is highly skilled and literate. Today, we are here to ‘Bust a Myth’ about some of the cliché stereotypes of Indian Politicians being ‘Paanchvi Paas’ (5th Standard Pass-out).

So, here is a list of 17 most educated politicians of India:

1. Manmohan Singh

Ex-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is a very educated man and holds B.A. & M.A. in Economics from Punjab University, a degree in economics from Oxford and Cambridge University. He pursued his PhD from Nuffield College of the Oxford University.

2. Rahul Gandhi

Yes! Rahul Gandhi comes second in this list and he has an undergraduate degree from Harvard University and M.Phil, Cambridge University.

3. Shashi Tharoor

Shashi Tharoor under graduated with an arts degree in history from the St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and has completed his PhD at age of 12. His highest educational qualifications start from M.A, M.A.L.D and PhD from Tufts University, B.A History from St. Stephens College of Delhi University.

4. Akhilesh Yadav
