In yet another shocking incident that took place in the land of Mahabharata, a 17 year girl was raped. Police informed that three accused are arrested of which two are 18 years old and one is a teenager, who is sent to a surveillance house.
On Thursday, the police shared about an incident where a 17-year-old girl, who is a student of 12th-grade, was raped near her village in Kurukshetra district of Haryana. She was allegedly drugged and raped by five men, including a cousin of her friend.
According to the update by the police, 3 of the accused have been arrested so far and two others are being looked for. Police also shared that out of the three arrested, one is a juvenile and is sent to an observation house.
The investigating officer Sub-Inspector Praveen Kaur, said,
“One of the accused youths is a cousin of the victim’s friend.“
She said that
“the victim went to her friend’s house after going to school on February 22 when she got dizzy and her friend told her that her cousin would leave her at home.”
The incident took place when the accused took the victim to a location near Umri Chowk in Kurukshetra, where four other accused, including a young man working at a hotel and a juvenile, were already present. She was then raped by all of them present there.
On speaking about the matter Police added that while executing the crime, the accused also assaulted the victim. Kurukshetra Superintendent of Police Himanshu Garg told the media that an FIR was registered based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s father.
As per the complaint, her father dropped her off at school on February 22 at 7 am. After school hours, she used to visit a center for improving her Speaking English at 1.30 pm and return home by 4 pm.
On failing to return home at the aforementioned time, the victim’s family members were concerned and contacted the coaching center. They were informed that the girl had not attended the class today.
The complaint read –
“The parents started looking for her. Around 7 pm, as they were going to the police station at Barara Chowk to register a case, they saw two boys with a girl on their motorcycle coming from Ladwa city.
They identified her with a school dress when the motorcycle approached them. While the girl was seated in the middle, the boy sitting behind her was pointing to her having a country-made pistol.”
