A 19-year-old woman married a 70-year-old ‘baba’ in Pakistan, and went on to say how one doesn’t see age in love. The couple’s unique story was recently shared by popular Pakistan YouTuber Syed Basit Ali who often shares such unique tales of love and bonding on his channel. Earlier, Ali had shared the story of a landlady in Pakistan marrying the man she had initially hired as a domestic help.
In their interview with Syed, 19-year-old Shumaila Ali and 70-year-old Liaquat Ali identified themselves to be a couple who endured backlash for marrying someone against the social norms. In her interview, Shumaila Ali mentioned that she met her future groom, a man who is almost 50 years older than her, when she used to have morning walks.
Hailing from Lahore, Shumaila and Liaquat in their interview said how fate was responsible for bringing them together when they both used to go out for daily walks. In a bid to impress the young girl he was smitten by, Liaquat started singing songs when she used to jog.
The 19-year-old girl grew fond of Liaqat’s singing and the walk blossomed into a relationship. In the interview, Shumaila said that love has no boundaries, and age especially is not something love can be bound by.

The couple’s unique love story was set in motion thanks to Bobby Deol! Yes, you heard it right. It so happened that Shumaila and Ali used to go for morning walks regularly. In a bid to impress Shumaila, Liaquat used to sing songs picturized on Bobby Deol whenever she used to be behind her.

“One doesn’t see age in love..”
Over the course of a few months, the then 18-year-old Shumaila and her 70-year-old jogging mate, fell in love. In her interview, Shumaila mentioned that the age-difference doesn’t bother her much, and added, “One doesn’t see age in love. It just happens.”
The 19-year-old also had a very sensitive take on bad relationships that often end tragically. She said that one must consider their dignity and honor before anything else in a relationship.
On Being in Good Relationship
“Instead of getting into a bad relationship, one should get married to a good person instead. One shouldn’t see the age difference and consider personal dignity or honor above everything else,” she said, as per a TimesNow report.

Liaquat’s Take On Marrying Woman Almost 50 Years Younger
Meanwhile, Liaquat has been enjoying delicacies prepared by his 19-year-old wife. Since marrying her, he has stopped going to restaurants to have meals, he told in the interview. When asked about the age-difference, Liaquat too added that love transcends factors like age.
“There is no question about someone being old or young. Anyone who is legally allowed to marry can marry. Age is not a factor when it comes to romance,” he said, as per the Times Now report.
