Former Indian cricketer Arun Lal was reported to have taken consent from his ex-wife to marry his 38-year-old fiancé Bulbul Saha. The 68-year-old cricketer turned commentator will be marrying for the second time in his lifetime. The news was further confirmed when pictures of his Haldi ceremony went viral on social media.
According to reports, Arun engaged Bulbul quite a while back and the two will get married sometime next month. He was earlier married to his first wife Reena. However, the two decided to part ways and had a mutually agreed divorce. It should be living that Arun has been living with Reena due to her illness and has been taking care of her.
It should be noted that Arun was diagnosed with jaw cancer back in 2016 and prior to that he was seen commentating on several international and domestic matches. Earlier in 2019, he was Lifetime Achievement Award by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB’s).
Thanks to Arun’s guidance as a coach of Bengal team for Ranji Trophy, Bengal has improved drastically, reaching the finals of Ranji Trophy back in 2020.

According to reports, Arun and Reena decided to part ways with Reena a while back, having agreed to a get a divorce. However, Arun has been reported to have lived with Reena after their divorce as she has been ill for a very long time. A Zee News report mentioned that Arun and his betrothed will continue living with Reena to take care of an ailing Reena.
Couple to Tie the Knot in Kolkata
Arun and Bulbul have been in relationship for a long time, according to reports and they will finally be getting married in a private ceremony in Kolkata. Pictures of the couple’s wedding invite are also making the rounds of social media, confirming that the couple will host a wedding reception at the Peerless Inn hotel.

An Unremarkable Batting Career
A right-handed batter, Arun Lal made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in 1982 and formed a formidable partnership of 156 runs with Sunil Gavaskar. While his Test records show a relatively decent batting average, his ODI numbers were abysmal, to say the least. In 13 ODIs Lal only scored 122 runs with an average of 9.38.
Becoming the Face of Commentary Panels
Following his retirement from international career, Lal was the regular panelist of commentary panels and commentated in both international and domestic matches. He also was part of several analysis interviews and panel discussions held by news platforms.

Jaw Cancer, Helping the Bengal Team for Ranji
In 2016, Lal was diagnosed with jaw cancer and had to take a break from his stint from commentary. The illness couldn’t keep him down for long as he then went on to coach the Bengal team for Ranji Trophy. While his batting performance was unremarkable, Lal emerged as one of the most successful coaches in the domestic cricket circuit.
Under his coaching, the Bengal’s team returned to its glory and went as far as playing the final of the trophy in 2020 after 13 years of hiatus. In 2022, the Bengal team qualified for the quarterfinals of the Ranji trophy.
