In another horrific incident of dog attacks in India, a seven-month-old baby in Noida was mauled to death by a stray dog at a housing society. Following the incident, enraged residents of the society have been staging a protest against civic bodies. The residents have been outraged over the civic bodies failure to act on stray dogs’ complaints that have been piling.
According to reports, the horrific incident occurred earlier on Monday at around 4.30 pm when the parents of the 7-monthold baby were occupied in construction work near the Lotus Boulevard Society, located in Noida’s Sector 100. The attack was so vicious that the baby’s intestines were clawed out.
Following the attack, the baby was rushed to the Noida’s Yatharth Hospital where he was admitted to the intensive care unit. Due to the extent of the injuries, the child had to undergo a surgery, which was unfortunately unsuccessful.
Dharam Vir Yadav, a RWA representative of the Lotus Boulevard Society was quoted in a PTI report saying, “The child was mauled by a stray dog on Monday evening. He was admitted to a private hospital where doctors operated on him. Unfortunately, we lost the child late last night.”
The incident comes a day after the administration put a ban on Pitbull, Rottweiler, and Dogo Argentino breeds after a series of attacks were reported from Ghaziabad, near Noida.
The Facts of the Matter
The menace of stray dogs has been on an uptick in the past few months. Various parts of country including states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Kerala have reported injuries and even deaths due to stray dog attacks.
One more attack was added in the tally recently after a 7-month-old baby in Noida was mauled by a stray dog earlier on Monday. The attack was reported from Lotus Boulevard Society located in Noida’s Sector 100.
Parents were Involved in Construction Work
As per reports, the parents of the infant were involved in some construction work near the above-mentioned society. The couple had kept the child near them. However, somehow a stray dog entered the society and dragged the kid away.
Baby’s Intestines were Pulled Out
The nature of the attack was so vicious, that the baby’s intestines were pulled out. Following the attack, the infant was rushed to a local hospital, from where he was referred to the Yatharth Hospital for immediate surgery.
Dharam Vir Yadav, a representative of the society’s residents group, was quoted by a PTI report saying, “The child was mauled by a stray dog on Monday evening. He was admitted to a private hospital where doctors operated on him. Unfortunately, we lost the child late last night.”

Cops Alerted Agencies to Catch Dogs
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Noida 1) Rajneesh Verma told media that initially there was no complaint filed with the police as the case was related to stray dog. However, the cops alerted the concerned agencies to catch stray dogs.

Outraged Locals Stage Protest
On Tuesday, the local police filed a general diary case in the case. Meanwhile, the attack on the infant and his eventual unfortunate demise has sparked outrage amongst locals who staged a protest. As per the local residents, the civic bodies have not done much to tackle the menace of stray dogs, despite repeated complaints.
