In a horrific incident, a 30-year-old woman was reportedly gang-raped by 3 men at the Ghaziabad-Hapur border. As per the police, the FIR which was filed on Thursday reported that the woman was abducted and raped by the men after she took an auto from Ghaziabad to go to her home in Noida.

Hapur Superintendent of Police, Neeraj Jadaun said- “We received information from Masuri police station around 3 am on Thursday that a woman approached them reporting gang rape. The Senior officials got to the spot and an FIR was filed… A medical examination was carried out within the next few hours of the victim. We are tracing the accused.

As per the Police, the woman, who works in a mall, took an auto on Wednesday for covering a short distance between 8.30 pm and 9 pm. She then switched to a shared auto in which a man was already seated. In a few minutes, another man entered inside the auto for sharing the Auto. In the FIR, the woman has accused the driver of taking her to a barren ground irrespective of her objections to do so.

The victim informed the police that she was reportedly raped around 10.00 pm – 11.00 pm. After this horrifying incident with her, she then reached the nearest police station in Ghaziabad at around 11.30 am.

The incident which took place inside the Hapur jurisdiction is five meters from the scene of the crime and hence, the Hapur Police has registered an FIR. The investigating teams have been formed to investigate the incident. 

An FIR has been registered against the accused under Section 376 (d) (gangrape) of the IPC. Police teams are acquiring footage from CCTV on the Ghaziabad-Hapur stretch.
