Deep Sidhu was reportedly attempting to play a leadership role in the protest movement and several farmer leaders opposed him.

On Tuesday, Delhi Police arrested actor-activist Deep Sidhu in connection with the violence that broke out on Republic Day’s Tractor parade. This information was shared by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.

Deep Sidhu is accused of inciting violence during a farmers’ tractor rally on Republic Day.

Last week, the Delhi Police announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh on information about Sindhu and others accused in the Republic Day case.

A protestor was killed and more than 300 police officers were injured after thousands of farmers on tractors, horses and on foot walked on Republic Day to repeal the controversial farm laws.

The protesters broke down the barricades and marched into the city, clashing with the police force that tried to push them back with tear gas and a baton charge.

Delhi Police has registered 44 cases and arrested more than 120 people so far. A lot of farmer union leaders have been named in police FIR and cases.

Deep Sidhu, this 36-year-old actor was the election agent of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate Sunny Deol in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The Farmer leaders have denied any involvement and have blamed Sidhu for the violence. Sidhu performed Facebook live on the Red Fort when a section of farmers entered the memorial premises and hoisted flags there. The words in the air are such that there are some farmer leaders who are of the saying that there is a suspected involvement of central government agencies in the said incident.
