The Affair Which Started it All

In 2019, Dr. Seema Gupta was charged for murdering a woman and the woman’s son after suspecting that the woman was having an affair with her husband. 25-year-old Deepa Gurjar was working as a receptionist at Dr. Sudeep’s clinic. Suspecting that Gurjar was having an affair with her husband, she made Sudip fire her from the job.

However, Sudeep and Deepa stayed in contact and Sudeep also helped her to open up a beauty parlour and spa. Moreover, he also allowed Deepa and her son stay in his home, not letting his wife know. The turning point in this incident came when Deepa sent invitations regarding the inauguration of her new business and the invitations had the name of Sudip mentioned in it.

Seema, in a fit of rage took his mother-in-law to Deepa’s house where all 3 women confronted each other. After a minor physical altercation, Seema poured inflammable liquid on both Deepa and her 6-year-old son and set them on fire.

After the confession, the police had charged Seema, Sudeep and Sudeep’s mother with murder.
