Just like the Indian Idol regular viewers, who criticized about the Kishore Kumar tribute episode, the legendary singer’s son Amit Kumar said he didn’t enjoy the show and wanted to stop it in between.

Last week’s episode of Sony TV’s famous singing reality show, Indian Idol 12, the contestants and the judges paid tribute to the legendary singer and actor Kishore Kumar. They sang about 100 songs of the singer over the split of two episodes, and the makers also invited his son and singer-composer Amit Kumar as a special celebrity guest.

However, the regular viewers got upset with the quality of the episode. Many criticized the fact that the contestants and the judges of the show, Neha Kakkar, Himesh Reshammiya and Anu Malik, almost ruined Kishore Kumar’s songs.

The son of the legendary singer Amit Kumar agreed with the viewers and said he also wanted to stop the episodes in the middle of the filming. Like the viewers, he too didn’t like how the makers of the show decided to pay tribute to his father.

In a recent interview with some media spokesperson Amit Kumar said-

“I did what I was told. I was told sabko praise karna hai. I was told jo jaisa bhi gaaye usko uplift karna hai because it’s a tribute to Kishore da. I thought it will be homage to my father. But once there, I just followed what I was asked to do. I had told them to give me portions of the script in advance, but nothing of that sort happened.”

Adding to it he said that-

“The truth is that nobody can sing like Kishore Kumar, he was a mountain of a personality and man of many faces. The youngsters of today have no idea about him, they just know ‘Roop Tera Mastana’ from ‘Aradhana’.”

He also confessed after the show ended during an interview that-

“Okay, frankly, I wanted to stop the episode. Do you know there was a programme K for Kishore and it came to an end after some time? Who ended it? I asked them to wind up. I told them to stop the nonsense as it was going haywire and boring.”
