“I expect Akhilesh Yadav to step forward for his narcotics test,” Shukla said, adding that individuals chanting “Zindabad” slogans in glorification of Jinnah and storing Jinnah’s beliefs and ideas have no place in this country.
Akhilesh Yadav’s statement on Pakistan’s founder provoked a massive political storm, with the BJP leadership and AIMIM head Asaduddin Owaisi criticizing the Samajwadi Party chief months before the UP polls.
Yadav had stated on October 31:
“Sardar Patel, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and (Muhammad Ali) Jinnah were all barristers who attended the same law school. They assisted (India’s) independence and never gave up in the face of adversity.”
As the controversy over the Samajwadi Party’s (SP) leader’s statements heated, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, without mentioning Yadav, called the statements “disgraceful and condemnable” and warned people about political parties that compared Sardar Patel with Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
BJP Minister Shukla Claimed, “Akhilesh Yadav Receiving Funds from ISI”
Shukla, the Uttar Pradesh minister of state for legislative affairs, also claimed Yadav of receiving funds from the Pakistan espionage agency ISI.
“Yogi Adityanath, the state’s chief minister, has been a powerful threat to the Islamic fanatics. Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, has their full assistance. The ISI provides Akhilesh with’ Anrakshan Aur Sujhav’ (patronage and counsel). It’s probable that he’s also receiving financial assistance from it “, Shukla stated.
“Why Should I Explain the Context”, Akhilesh Replied To the Reporter
When asked by journalists in Lucknow regarding his reply to the dispute over his statements, which stirred a controversy prior to the UP Assembly polls, the former chief minister replied,
“Why should I explain the context? I would recommend that you revisit the books.”
Swatantra Dev Singh, the UP BJP head, reacted angrily to Yadav’s counter-attack in a Hindi tweet, saying,
“Yadav’s fondness for Jinnah hasn’t dimmed. Please, Akhilesh Yadav Ji, specify whether Indian or Pakistani history books must be studied.”
Jinnah is accountable for the nation’s divide, Minister Shukla told journalists in Ballia. He also added,
“No Indian desires to watch or hear Jinnah because he is a real villain. Akhilesh Yadav must explain why he is celebrating Jinnah under the allure of greed.”
Akhilesh Yadav Should Change His Advisors: Owaisi AIMIM Head
“If Akhilesh Yadav assumes that by uttering such words, he will get a section of people happy, I believe he is mistaken, and he should switch his advisers, He must also study some books and educate himself”
Owaisi remarked in response to Akhilesh’s comments.
SP Demands Suspension of BJP Minister Shukla
The Samajwadi Party sought Anand Swaroop Shukla’s removal, alleging party leader Akhilesh Yadav of receiving financial assistance from Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
SP workers also launched a protest at the Ballia district collectorate headquarters on Friday, seeking that a complaint must be filed against the minister.
However, BJP has not addressed UP minister Shukla’s claim.
