In Aligarh, police constable and his friend allegedly gangraped a minor girl and also took her videos to threaten her and buy her silence. Both the 24-year-old constable and his friend were arrested by the Aligarh police earlier on Wednesday this week.

The accused has been identified as Lakhendra Singh. Singh was reportedly a constable of the PAC’s 28 Battalion and was arrested from his Kannauj. His friend, who allegedly was his accomplice in the crime, was identified as Amit Kumar.

According to reports, the mother of the 17-year-old victim filed a complaint against Lakhendra and Amit for allegedly gangraping her minor daughter earlier last month. The mother, in her complained stated that Lakhendra promised her daughter that he would marry her.

Based on the promise took her to an isolated location outside their village. She complained that the accused duo abducted her daughter and further recorded the entire ordeal on video.

According to police involved in the case, the girl chose not to tell anyone about the incident as the accused threatened to make the video viral if she speaks about it. The video however circulated and this was when the girl told her mother about the entire matter.

The Facts of the Matter

On Thursday, the Aligarh police arrested a 24-year-old man and his friend for allegedly gangraping a minor girl. The 24-year-old accused is reportedly a police constable posted currently in Kannauj with the 28 Battalion of PAC. The accused was identified as Lakhendra Singh and his friend who was arrested by the police as well, is Amit Kumar.

Victim’s Silence was Bought by Threat

According to reports, the victim’s mother came forward and filed a complaint against the accused after a video of the entire horrific ordeal started going viral. The victim’s mother told the police that the accused had recorded video of them gangraping her and threatened to share the video if she would alert anyone about the incident.

Earlier last week, despite the victim not coming forward with the incident, the videos somehow went viral. This was when the girl confided in her mother and told her about the horrors she was allegedly subjected to.

Accused Police Officer Promised Marriage to Minor Girl

In her complaint, the victim’s mother said that Lakhendra Singh had promised her 17-year-old minor daughter of marrying her. Earlier last month, Lakhendra called the victim outside the village. Lakhendra and his friend Amit Kumar both allegedly abducted the 17-year-old girl and gang-raped the girl, her mother complained. They also shot a video of the horrific act.

Based on the complaint, the Aligarh police filed an FIR against the two accused for gangraping. The accused have been booked under multiple sections of the POCSO Act and the IT Act. They were presented before the court after their arrest from Kannauj and were sent straight to judicial custody.

It should be noted that the medical examination reports of the victim are still awaited.

UP Police Rapes Minor Who Had Come to Station to Complain About Being Raped

Earlier this year, a similar horrific incident of a police officer raping a minor girl had emerged and had shockwaves across the nation. In Uttar Pradesh, Station House Officer Tilakdhari Saroj, allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl who had come to him to register a rape complaint.

The incident was reported from Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. The 13-year-old victim had taken to the police station to file a complaint after allegedly being raped by four men. However, reports stated that after she filed a complaint, the accused officer called her, took her inside another room in the station and raped her.
