Amid the rumours of actor Sonu Sood joining politics, it’s confirmed that his sister Malvika Sood is to contest in the upcoming Punjab elections. While it is still not confirmed as to on which party’s back she will contest the elections, it’s being widely speculated that Malvika Sood will be fighting from the Moga constituency.
Recently, the actor and his sister had a conference at their hometown Moga where Sood claimed that his sister was “ready” to foray into the world of politics. He also claimed that he is open to have meetings with leaders from SAD (Shiromani Akali Dali), and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). It should be noted that as many as 117 persons will be elected at the 2022 Punjab Legislative elections.

At the Sunday’s conference, Sood claimed that his sister was “ready” and had a commitment that is “unparalleled”. “Malvika is ready. Her commitment to serve people is unparalleled,” Sood said. The actor further claimed that the decision of getting into politics is a big one, and it’s not just about “casual meetings.”

“..it is a big decision of life when it comes to joining a political party, it is more about ideologies not casual meetings. We will reveal at right time about the party,” the actor added. Sood was also asked as to which party his sister will be joining, however, the actor remained tight-lipped and said, “We will reveal at right time about the party.”
It should be noted that Malvika recently met the newly appointed CM of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi. Meanwhile, Sonu himself is closely tied to Aam Aadmi Party by being the face of AAP’s mentorship program.
Like always, Sonu was yet again asked about his own plan of joining politics. To this the 48-year-old actor said, “First it is important to support Malvika, she is connected to our roots in Moga. I will reveal my own plans later,” as quoted by an Indian Express report.

Who is Malvika Sood – Sonu Sood’s Sister Who May Contest in Punjab Elections?
According to a Republic World report, Malvika is the younger sister of Sood. A quick glance at Malvika Sood’s Instagram profile tells that she is also a philanthropist in her own right. In her Instagram bio, she has mentioned that she is the CEO of Hollywood English Academy, an institute for IELTS aspirants. She’s also a computer engineer, as per her bio.
Through her social media, it’s quite apparent that she has been involved in various philanthropic works such as distributing masks, ration kits, students, and other essential items to kids.
