Finally Big B put an end to speculation over the amount of contribution he made for COVID-19 relief. Slamming the trolls, Amitabh Bachchan shared the details of his COVID-19 relief support. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan expressed on his personal blog and revealed the major details. He also made clear that he has already crossed over the Rs 2 crore figure that was being circulated on social media.

The megastar wrote that he has contributed around Rs 15 crore and he won’t step back from doing more, even if it means breaking down in his own funds. He also encouraged his fans and others to move forward and help each other in this crucial time so that India can win this battle against the life-threatening COVID-19.

Amitabh Bachchan was trolled for the last couple of days along with other Bollywood celebrities for about not mentioning his relief towards the pandemic. He said he does not believe in announcing in the public about the charity that he does but he felt compelled to do so this time to end the “everyday abuse and the filth of distasteful comments”.

He also revealed that he is also helping people in the industry who are facing a challenge due to COVID-19 times. “And there are those colleagues and friends that have run into difficult times financially  … they too have been given funds to tide over some of the trouble they find themselves in. This is not trumpeting my ‘wares’  … if at all it can be a motivation for many others to come forward and donate, the amount of misery that one hears and sees could be greatly reduced,” he wrote.

Rakabganj gurudwara

400 bed care centre at Rakabganj Gurudwara, in Delhi was inaugurated. The centre shall be able to provide in the hour of need shall be difficult to enumerate. His contribution in that making gives a sense of a deed that needed to be done, and soon it shall function under the care and guidance of a team of selected medical infrastructure, to bring relief to the extraneous conditions that people out here at struggling with.

Ventilators from overseas

He seemed happy to state that the 20 ventilators that he had ordered from overseas have gradually started to arrive. The first lot of 10 has landed in Mumbai and are at Customs awaiting clearance. The procuring agency will deliver them by Wednesday and at least 4 Municipal Hospitals that he had earmarked and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Committee or the BMC, shall be given at least 4 of the 6 they desired.

Oxygen Concentrators ready to be airlifted

The Oxygen Concentrators, has also been put on a very fast track through suppliers from the overseas companies. Thes companies were under deep concern under great pressure of depleting stocks but managed to keep some for him. 50 of them shall be airlifted on the 15th for Delhi, and will be coming from a recognised Company in Poland. Another 150 from different manufacturing agents shall be coming in by the 23rd.
