The famous Indian Company Mahindra’s Chief, Anand Mahindra is stealing hearts all over the internet with his kind gesture. Recently, he decided to invest in a small business run by an 80-year-old lady who is working in her village and selling Idlis at Rs. 1 to help the underprivileged and labour class people save their stomach and money.
K Kamalathal, an 80-year-old woman from Vadivelampalayam, a village near Peru in Tamil Nadu has been selling Idlis for over 30 to 35 years from her small business. She sells them at Rs. 1 so that poor, labour class and underprivileged people can have the charity of affordable breakfast and they have a full stomach before they start working to earn their daily living.
Kamalathal Amma wakes up every morning before the sun starts shining in the sky, starts her preparation for the daily Idli cooking, and prepares the profound Idli dish. She opens her home for the needy people and o feed them the idli with sambhar and coconut chutney.
Amma Initially started selling Idlis at very cheap rates. She had to increase her prices from 50 paise to Rs. 1 because, inflation, and that makes the raw-material and inputs like spices, fuel, ingredients a little expensive. With this business, Kamalathal Amma’s motive was to serve the people who can not afford expensive food. Amma’s Idli gives these people a healthy, home-made and affordable diet every morning. The worker and labour class people come every morning in bulk to fill their stomach with a complete breakfast meal and Amma’s Kitchen so that they can work hard the whole day.
Amma makes and is able to sell around 1000 idlis every day. On being asked by India Today about her business and profits Amma said, “Profits are not my priority but feeding the people is what drives me to work.”
As soon as CEO Mr Mahindra got to know about the Amma, her business and her generous intentions, he could not resist himself from extending his hands to help her. This is what he tweeted after knowing about Amma.
But as we can understand, there are always people around the corner, there are Twitterati who could not resist themselves on contravening the act. One of such twitter users caught a word from Anand’s tweet and issued a comment upon it.
But Anand Sir had his ways to deal with the same.
Some Twitter users instead came forward to highlight the point of Anand’s tweet and make things clearer for this guy.
Finally Mr Smart agreed to the point
Some Twitteratis further appreciated Amma for the great initiative
After looking at the video, Anand Sir showed concerns about Amma cooking the Idlis using a traditional gas stove (Chulha) which uses wood as fuel and that its hazardous smoke can behave ill effects on her health. Hence, in a series of tweets, Anand sir tweeted about how he would be happy to give Amma a modern LPG gas stove and a gas cylinder.
This tweet helped him reach the Amma
Finally, he managed to get things done with the help of renowned LPG company, Bharat Gas and one of its agencies working in the area.
This is how Anand Mahindra reacted to it.
And the kind act of Anand Mahindra and Bharat Gas was so much appreciated by Twitter yet again.
Indeed Anand Mahindra is a man of his words and so down to earth even after being the chief of one of India’s top automobile and finance company. We appreciate his efforts and congratulate for his greatness and generosity.
