According to police officers, the robbers had gone on to donate Rs. 1 lakh of the total Rs. 1 crore at the Khatushyam temple.
Similarly, earlier last year, a thief in Maharashtra was caught on CCTV camera touching an idol’s feet in the temple before he stole the temple’s donation box. The accused was soon arrested and the Rs. 536 that was in the donation box, was also recovered.
