In a horrific incident reported from Andhra Pradesh, a minor was reportedly gang raped for 8 months by as many as 80 men. The police, according to an India Today report arrested all the 80 accused, and are currently on the lookout for others associated in the horrific and blood-curdling crime. The 13-year-old minor was reportedly rescued by police in Guntur, about 40 kilometers from the state capital Amaravati.
The survivor was reportedly trapped in the lurking shadows of several brothels across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the last eight months. The arrested individuals include, pimps, kingpins, customers, and other men with stomach churning appetite.
According to reports, the 13-year-old survivor was adopted by a woman who had befriended the survivor’s mother during COVID-19 when the mother was hospitalized. Soon after, the girl’s mother passed away due to COVID-19. This was when the girl was taken away by the woman and pushed into a dark world.
The Facts of the Matter
On April 19, the police in Guntur rescued a minor who had been pushed into the world of prostitution for the last eight months. The 13-year-old survivor was reportedly gang-raped by as many as 80 men over the course of the eight months. The persons arrested so far include pimps, kingpins, and customers who subjected the minor girl to a world of pain and trauma.
80 Suspects including B.Tech Student Arrested
The police have so far arrested the 80 suspects, including a B.Tech student. Moreover, a state-wide hunt is already on for associates of the suspects who may have played their role in the gruesome horror story. The incident was brought to the authority’s attention after the girl’s father filed a missing person’s complaint for his minor daughter who had disappeared in 2021.
Minor Was ‘Adopted’ by Mother’s Friend
According to reports, the minor survivor was adopted by a woman who had become friends with the minor’s ailing mother. The mother was hospitalized in a COVID-19 center in June 2021 when she befriended the woman, identified as Swarna Kumari.
Unfortunately, the survivor’s mother passed away due to COVID-19 and the accused woman took the survivor away without the father’s knowledge. Months after not being able to locate his daughter, the father filed a complaint in August 2021.

“Gangs took advantage of situation & age, purchased girl”: ASP
The police swung into action. However, it was not until January 2022 that the first arrest in the case was made. Earlier on April 19, the police arrested 10 more persons, including a B.Tech student. Additional Superintendent of Police, K Supraja who’s involved in the case was quoted in an India Today report saying, “Taking advantage of the girl’s age and situation, several gangs purchased the girl and took her to several places in the twin Telugu states and forced her into prostitution.”
One Accused in London
While 80 persons have been arrested in the matter, the police are on the lookout for other accused that may have been involved. According to reports, one of the accused in the case is currently in London. So far, one car, 53 phones, 3 auto-rickshaws, and motorcycles have been seized from the various accused in the case. The arrests were made in places like Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Nellore, Kakinada.

Maharashtra Survivor was Raped by 400 Men over Six Months in 2021
It should be noted that earlier on November 15, Children’s Day 2021, a similar gut-wrenching story emerged from Maharashtra. A 16-year-old minor was allegedly raped by as many as 400 men over the period of six months.
The minor was reportedly married off by her father. Her marriage had a shocking beginning as her father-in-law repeatedly harassed her. She was then sent to Ambejogai, Beed for employment. This was when she was pushed into the world of prostitution and she was passed around by hundreds of months for six months.
