TV-actress Ankita Lokhande spoke to Bollywood Bubble where she spoke about her relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput, the aftermath of their breakup, the void his death left in her life, and her current disposition towards life and relationship. Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita dated for more than 6 years before they called it quits back in 2016.

Taking a stroll in the memory lane, Ankita shared how she was mercilessly trolled by fans after her relationship ended. She added how people had no clarity about the truth and how Sushant had already made it clear to her that he was choosing to go ahead with his career.

She also shared how she is grateful to God for being able to survive that phase as she found herself to be completely lost. The Pavitra Rishta actress shared that for more than 2 years after her breakup, she found it difficult to function with a purpose and would just stay home, not talk to her friends, and not work properly. ‘My life was finished’, claimed Lokhande after Sushant’s break up with her. However, the actress made sure to not use the word depressed for her condition but called it immense sadness. Although most people would offer false sympathy, Lokhande in the interview claimed that no one cared enough to understand what she was going through.

However, the actress claimed that she didn’t want it to work out. The actress instead wanted to do right by Sushant, be on his side and support him quietly.

She also narrated a story how prolific filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali told her that she would regret not taking up Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. The actress claimed that she dropped out the project because she wanted to have a family and wanted to settle down. Ankita in the interview said how after her break up with Rajput she realized that she too had to work on herself and work for herself.

Ankita in the interview said how she had no regrets and her priorities were different back then. She also admitted that she was ill equipped to balance personal life and a career. The actress said that she now tells everyone that they should know how to compartmentalize to not get lost.

The actress also shared the silver lining that came to her life in the form of new relationship. The Manikarnika actress is now in relationship with Vicky Jain. The actress said how after her break up with Sushant Singh Rajput she realized that she was at a point in her life where she had to let that go. With a smile on her face, she said how happy she is with Jain and how he has brought some balance in her life.

Ankita concluded the interview by briefly speaking about Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. She said she is still in touch with her family and that she always wants to take care of Rajput’s family.
