In response to criticism of airport lounges from a parody account, Ashneer Grover, who is widely known for his outspokenness, likened them to “free meal scheme canteens.” The former managing director of BharatPe and Shark Tank investor shared his opinion on the matter.

The judge for season 1 of Shark Tank India had reacted to a parody account calling itself ‘Gabbar’ that had made a jibe about airport lounges.

Earlier ‘Gabbar’ had tweeted “Going to the Airport Lounge these days is basically rubbing shoulders with declasse deal hunters jostling to have that cold samosa. So I always prefer to stay in the common area,”

Ashneer Grover replied, “There is more exclusivity in sitting in any airport restaurant and paying for your meal. Lounges are like free meal scheme canteens – with credit card as redeeming voucher!”

In response to Ashneer’s tweet, many people left their opinions on the platform. One person wrote, “People who can afford the meal are given it free at lounges… people who cant afford to buy meal at airport have to pay for it… next level Doglapan”.

Recently, BharatPe accused Ashneer Grover and his family of causing approximately ₹81.3 crore of loss from illegitimate payments to spurious human resource consultants, inappropriately elevated and unnecessary payments through intermediary vendors.
