In a news that may send chill down the spine of new parents, a baby accidentally ordered furniture worth Rs. 1.4 lakhs from Walmart thanks to the mum’s phone. 22-month-old Ayaansh Kumar has been living with his parents in New Jersey and recently moved with them to a new home when this incident happened.

The ‘lucky’ parents have been identified as Mrs. Madhu Kumar and Mr. Pramod Kumar, residents of NJ. Reportedly, the furniture ordered by the toddler included chairs, flower stands, and several other items, all amounting to a whopping $1,700.

As to how the incident happened? Mum Madhu had several items in her online shopping cart and it took little Ayaan a few taps here and a few taps there to place the order. Thankfully, Walmart later got the wind of the incident and assured the couple a refund of every item they would like to return.

The Facts of the Matter

Thanks to internet, and the fascinating development in logistics, everything that we may desire, if legal and available, can be delivered to us in hours or days. From delicious pizzas, to useful smartphones, to life-saving medicines, with one tap, you can have the world delivered at your door step. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the importance of online delivery was felt all the more, and people who were once averse to online shopping, are not enjoying the ease and convenience.

However, the ease of getting something can be, well, way too easy. Shopping platforms and financial apps provide their customers with passwords so that no one else can dupe us. However, what happens when we forget to use those safety features, and it’s a baby that randomly places a huge order?

Meet Mrs. And Mr. Kumar and 22-Month-Old Shopping Genius Ayaansh

Mr and Mrs Kumar from New Jersy got the answer to that particular question, and the answer only costed them $1,700 (Rs. 1.4 lakhs). Their about-to-be 2-year-old son Ayaansh somehow picked his mother’s phone up and managed to make enough right (or wrong, depending how one sees it) taps to order furniture worth Rs. 1.4 lakhs.

Reportedly, Ayaansh’s mother Madhu is a frequent shopper. Like every shopaholic, she has already added all her payment information. Earlier, she had added some furniture in her shopping cart – some she wanted to buy, and some that she never intended on buying. But Little Ayaansh made sure that everything that as added in the cart, was delivered.

“Running Out of Space for Home…”

The little toddler’s father Pramod was quoted by Fox News saying, “This came as a surprise to us, as we never thought that he would place that many orders. We have been getting packages all week now and are running out of space in our home. Today we got two more big packages.”

Ayaansh’s Mother Explains Situation, Father Looks at Bright Side

Ayaansh’s mother explained the situation further to the media outlet. She claimed that she needed only 2-4 chairs, however, their son went on to click order on all of the chairs in the cart. And hence about 10-12 chairs were ordered.

Ayaansh’s father, a glass-half-full person claimed that since the news made people laugh and smile, especially at a time when everyone is dealing with COVID-19 stress, the family is happy about the little mishap. “So we want to keep some of the items our son ordered as a memory,” he added.
