After the accident, UP CM Yogi Adityanath condoled the death of the family members and assured appropriate treatment for the 1 person who’s critically injured and taking treatment. The horrific accident occurred on the National Highway.

In a horrific turn of events which led to 5 people dying, a car’s driver lost control over his vehicle and rammed into an oncoming truck in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti. The accident comes just a few weeks after as many as 18 laborours who were sleeping next to their bus were ran over when a truck collided with the bus.

The Facts of the Matter

A family traveling from Lucknow to Jharkhand were on the National Highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti. Little did the family know that they would be rocked by a tragedy so devastating that it will eliminate as many as 5 kins. The accident happened on the Puraina crossing when the car’s driver lost control over his car and rammed into a truck container from the rear side.

Circle Officer (CO), Alok Prasad was quoted by news reports saying that the car was speeding when it ran into the container truck. Meanwhile officials claimed that the only 2 people survived the high-impact car crash. Off the 2 survivors, 1 is in a critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment.

7 People in Car- 5 Dead on Spot; Driver & Little Girl Hospitalized

News agency ANI in its report quoted a police official saying-

“There were seven people in the car. Five died on the spot while the two, the driver and a little girl, are majorly injured. We rushed them to the hospital. The girl is safe but the driver’s condition is quite serious.”

CM Adityanath Condoles Death

While the injured are currently in hospital, the deceased haven’t been identified as of now.

“CM Yogi Adityanath has condoled the death of people in a road accident in the district Basti. Maharaj has expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members. Maharaj ji has also directed to provide all possible relief to the affected and proper treatment of the injured,”

The Barabanki Accident

Earlier in July, Uttar Pradesh witnessed another tragic accident where as many as 18 people were killed. In Barabanki district, 18 laborlores were sleeping in front of their broken-down bus. Their biggest mistake came in the form of them sleeping right on the road, in front of their broken-down bus. They were ran over by the same bus when a fast-moving truck couldn’t pull its brakes and ran into the bus.

In the accident, 18 people were crushed to death. After the accident, Satya Narain Sabat, ADG (Lucknow) said-

“At the district hospital, there are 19 people who are being treated… A total of 18 deaths have been confirmed due to the accident. Our rescue operation is underway.”

Following the accident, PM Modi expressed his condolences and announced ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakhs. “PM Modi announced ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the tragic accident in Barabanki. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000 each,” his office tweeted after the accident.
