In a ‘Peak Bengaluru Moment’, a man recently shared a conversation he had with his Rapido driver, who was an award-winning creative director prior to being associated with Rapido. The fascinating conversation was shared by a Twitter user called Parag Jain earlier on August 15. Since being shared, the Twitter thread has received overwhelmingly positive response, with many netizens noting how tough pandemic was to a lot of people, and how their indominable spirit continues to shine.

“Had Mixed @Peakbengaluru movement. Rapido rider came to pick up at WeWork. During the ride, he asked me ‘On which floor are you working?’ After giving him an Intro, asked if he has been in wework, he replied ” Sir, Two years back I use to work in the same building”, Parag Jain’s introductory tweet read, which was enough to pique the curiosity of netizens.

In the next few tweets, Parag mentioned how his Rapido driver-partner was fired due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jain also mentioned how the driver-partner had created a mini-series which won 15 awards at film festivals. However, it never made it through to OTT due to commercial issues.

Parag also shared the business card of his Rapido driver-partner. On the card, it’s mentioned that Mr. Vignesh Nagabushanam, was a freelance creative director.

The Facts of the Matter

Thanks to the hustle-culture of the city, ‘peak Bengaluru moment’ has become a famous phrase among netizens who use the phrase whenever they witness a Bengaluru-citizen embodying the city’s hustle culture.

In a ‘mixed peak Bengaluru moment’, a netizen recently shared a conversation he had with his Rapido-driver, who was once a creative director and winner of 15 awards, and now works with the bike-taxi company.

Losing Job Due to Chinese – App Ban

In the next Tweet, Jain mentioned how his Rapido driver-partner used to work in the operations team of a Chinese company. Due to the blanket-ban of Chinese apps in India, the man lost his job back in 2020. Further, due to the pandemic, he couldn’t find other jobs. However, turning adversity into opportunity, he started working on his passion for directing films.

Creating Mini Series, Getting Broke

Like a protagonist of an inspirational film, the Rapido driver-partner created a mini-series by himself using his life savings. The series received overwhelmingly positive response and went on to win awards at 15 film festivals. However, it never made it through to OTT due to lack of commercial interest.

After being financially broke for the next two years, the man started working as a part-time driver to survive.

With the series of Tweets, Paras Jain also shared a card of the man in question. The man is named Vignesh Nagabushanam and on his business card, are the links to his social media accounts, along with his contact information.
