On Sunday, a YouTuber in Bengaluru posted a video of his harrowing experience in Karnataka’s capital. In the video description, he stated that a man had attacked him by grabbing and twisting his hand and arm. In the video, the YouTuber was seen recording with his camera when a shopkeeper-like man approached him and asked “Ye Kya Hai?” (What is this?). The accused then proceeded to hold the YouTuber’s hand and tried to snatch his camera as he pleaded to be let go. Fortunately, the YouTuber managed to escape and he later claimed that the man had attempted to break his finger. The video has now gone viral on social media, prompting Bengaluru police to take action against the accused.

Accused Arrested by Bengaluru Police

The suspect who was seen in the video harassing Pedro Mota was apprehended by Bengaluru police, stated ANI. The individual was identified as Navab Hayath Sharif, and was charged under the Karnataka Police Act Section 92, reported Laxman B Nimbargi, deputy commissioner of police, Bengaluru (West).

Last December, a South Korean YouTuber was reportedly accosted by two men on a Mumbai street while she was live streaming. The video of the incident circulated swiftly on the internet, prompting Mumbai Police to apprehend Mobeen Chand Mohammad Shaikh and Mohammad Naqeeb Sadrealam Ansari, and register an FIR under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code. The Indian Ministery of External Affairs also guaranteed the safety of the foreign YouTuber.
