The actress who rose to fame after ‘Bigg Boss 9’, Yuvika Chaudhary who is also Prince Narula’s wife was recently booked for using a casteist slur in a video. She was arrested by the Haryana police on Monday. The actress, who was filed under the SC/ST Act, was later granted the permission of an interim bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Yuvika’s Arrest And the Charges She Faced

Five months back, Yuvika Chaudhary landed herself in trouble when she used a casteist slur in a vlog, which sparked rage in the social media users. She was booked by the Haryana Police in May on a complaint by a Dalit rights activist.

The police had registered an FIR against Yuvika Choudhary under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act on May 28 on a complaint filed by Dalit rights activist Rajat Kalsan. Kalsan claimed that the actress made some objectionable remarks on people belonging to SC in the video which hurt the sentiments of his community and its members.

Yuvika’s Advocate on Her Defence

On Monday, Yuvika Chaudhary was arrested by the Haryana Police. She was later released on interim bail under an order from the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Ashok Bishnoi, the lawyer who is representing Yuvika Chaudhary in this case said that, “My client has joined the investigation as per the guidelines given by the High Court and she is on interim bail now.”

The Whole Story Behind the Case

Yuvika Chaudhary had shot a vlog with her husband, Prince Narula, where he was seen getting ready for an event. To make a comment on how bad she dressed and looked, Yuvika had used a casteist slur, which hurt sentiments of the SC/ST community and also sparked a controversy amid netizens. Yuvika’s Apology

As the rage kept rising, Yuvika apologised to her fans on social media. She claimed that she did not know the meaning of the word and she used it unknowingly. She wrote that she did not want to hurt anyone and pleaded to her fans that they should try to understand the situation.

Yuvika also issued an apology for her fans and the community which read, “Hi guys I didn’t kw the meaning about that word wt I used in my last vlog I didn’t mean to hurt anyone and I can never do that to hurt someone I apologise to each n everyone I hope you understand love you all”.
