Model, actor and Bigg Boss contestant Abhinav Shukla’s cousin is reportedly paralyzed after being brutally thrashed and left to die. Interestingly enough, Shukla had to take to Twitter where he tagged officials of the Punjab police to file an FIR. According to Mr. Shukla’s tweet, his cousin was beaten until he was conscious, stripped, and left to die. Although he survived, he has been struggling in ICU since the past 30 days. According to the tweet, his cousin is 36-year-old Mahesh Sharma. After he took to Twitter and shared his plight, several netizens also tagged high-ranking officials of Punjab Police to take cognizance of the matter. After his tweet received enough traction, he got a response from IPS officer.
The Facts of the Matter
On January 23, Bigg Boss contestant Abhinav Shukla took to Twitter and shared his plight while tagging high-ranking Punjab Police officials. The 39-year-old actor claimed that his cousin, identified as Mahesh, was paralyzed after he was beaten up unconscious, stripped naked and left to die. In his tweet, the Bigg Boss contestant added that his cousin has been in the ICU since the last 30 days. He also asked the Punjab Police to register an FIR.
“My cousin was brutally beaten when he was unconscious, stripped naked, left to die somehow he survived. spent 30 days in ICU. Now he is paralysed, so much happened but we all are begging the concerned PS to file an FIR,” his tweet read.
Along with the tweet, he added an image of his bed-ridden cousin who can be seen lying on a hospital bed.
Abhinav has a massive following on Twitter thanks to his time at Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi. With over 133 thousand followers in his kit, it took no time for him to garner sympathetic responses from his fans. Several netizens joined forces with him and tagged Punjab Police and sought an action from them.
One of the fans wrote, “Oh my God!!! Hoping his life is out of danger now. I pray God gives him the strength to recover soon. And to the authorities, please look into this matter. Justice should be done and guilty should be punished severely.” Fans have since been flooding Abhinav’s timeline with wishes of speedy recovery of his cousin.

Thankfully, it didn’t take long for Abhinav to receive an appropriate response from the authorities. An IPS officer Surendra Lamba. The police officer asked Abhinav to ask the concerned family to give their statements at the Pathankot Police at PS Mamoon Cantt. Further, the IPS Officer assured Abhinav that the officers at the station were directed to ensure appropriate legal action.

Even Punjab police responded to Abhinav’s plight and claimed that the issue was forwarded to Mammon Cantt police station as it falls into the Pathankot jurisdiction, where the incident reportedly took place.
