In another horrific case of abuse reported from Bihar, a 6-year-old student in Bihar’s Gaya was thrashed to death for allegedly eating apple that was meant to be offered to Goddess Durga during puja. The victim of the horrific thrashing was a student of Little Leaders Public School, a residential school in Baki Bigha village, Gaya. While the incident occurred earlier on Tuesday, it was reported to police on Friday.

The accused in the incident have been identified as Vikas Singh, and his wife. Vikas Singh is reportedly the owner of the residential school where the victim Vivek studied.

A Times Now report quoted the victim’s grandfather, Mr. Ram Balak Prasad saying, “Durga Puja was held inside the school grounds. Vivek chose an apple from the fruits (prasad) that were on the table and ate it.”

He added that the school’s owner thrashed him for eating the prasad and threw him outside the school.

While speaking to reporters, Mr. Prasad also said that his grandson was spotted unconscious in front of the school entrance, and was rushed back to his home by an auto driver. Vivek was rushed to hospital as his condition was critical. He was further referred to Magadh Medical College and while he was being taken, he succumbed to the thrashing and passed away.

The Facts of the Matter

A couple in Gaya lost the sight on the big picture that kids are part of Gods themselves. In hair-raising fury, the couple in question thrashed a 6-year-old boy to death, for allegedly eating the ‘prasad’ which was meant for Goddess Durga. The incident was reported from Gaya’s Baki Bigha village.

The victim in the incident was identified as Vivek while the accused was identified as Vikas Singh and his wife. Vikas was the owner of the Little Leaders Public School, a residential school where the victim studied. While the incident occurred earlier on Tuesday, it was reported to police on Friday.

Durga Puja was Being Held in School

Earlier on Friday, a Durga puja was being held in the school. Before the puja, Vivek managed to get his hands on an apple which was kept in the plate of prasad. This enraged the accused Vikas and his wife who took him to a separate room and beat him incessantly.

The accused couple slammed the victim on ground, thrashed him, and then threw him out of the school.

Victim Spotted by Auto Driver

In an interview to Times Now, the victim’s grandfather said, “My grandson collapsed in front of the school’s entrance. Vivek was found unconscious by an auto driver from my village who then took him home to Ukhra village in the Wazirganj block and gave him to us.”

The bereaved grandfather also added that they took Vivek to a nearby hospital. However, as the son’s condition was critical, the hospital staff referred them to the Magadh Medical College. Before Vivek could reach the hospital, he passed away enroute.

Outraged Locals Create Ruckus, Accused Arrested

Following the incident, outraged locals created ruckus outside the school. Meanwhile, the accused and his wife were both arrested and a murder case has been registered against the couple under section 302 of the IPC.

Ram Ekbal Yadav, the SHO of Wazirganj was quoted in reports saying, “The victim died mysteriously. We are looking into what happened. Only after the postmortem and viscera tests will the true cause of death be determined.”
