On Saturday, 29th May, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson tied the knot with his fiancée Carrie Symonds in London; they got married in a private and intimate ceremony. This ceremony was confirmed by his Downing Street office and now pictures from the event have been shared too.
A spokesperson from the Downing Street Office told in an interview that-
“The Prime Minister and Ms Symonds were married yesterday afternoon in a small ceremony at Westminster Cathedral. The couple will celebrate their wedding with family and friends next summer.”
Brief information about the newly-wed couple
PM Boris Johnson, 56, and 33-year-old Carrie Symonds, who is an environmental campaigner, announced their engagement back in February 2020 and they both have a son together. He is 1-year-old and his name is Wilfred. The newly-wed couple have decided that the celebrations for family and friends will be held around July 30, 2022.
The marriage would be Carrie Symonds’ first and PM Boris Johnson’s third. He has at least five other children from his previous relationships. The last British prime minister to marry in the office was Lord Liverpool back in 1822.
In PM Boris’s previous relationships, he was married to Allegra Mostyn-Owen (from 1987–1993), then to Marina Wheeler. Even though their divorce finalised in May 2020, they had announced their separation since 2018. UK-based author Marina Wheeler is of an Indian origin and her last book was set against the bad side of Partition in 1947.

About Carrie Symonds
Carrie Symonds aka Mrs Johnson is the daughter of one of the founders of the Independent newspaper, Matthew Symonds, and newspaper lawyer Josephine McAffee. She grew up in south-west London before going further to study art history and theatre studies at Warwick University.
She joined the Conservative Party as a press officer in 2010, and two years later worked on Mr. Johnson’s successful campaign to be re-elected mayor in London. She became the party’s head of communications, but parted ways in 2018 to work in public relations for Oceana which is a project that protects sea life. She further joined conservation group the Aspinall Foundation, becoming their head of communications in January 2021.

Carrie Symonds was looking lovely in a white dress with lace details, though there was no veil, she still graced the look with flowers adorning her hair. The Prime Minister, Boris, was in a black suit with a flower attached on the lapel. The couple exchanged their vows in Westminster Cathedral. A small group of family and friends attended the ceremony.
Conservative MP James Cleverly shared a different photograph of the newlyweds enjoying their garden reception in the Saturday sunshine.
