In Brazil a man ended up getting a 2kg dumbbell stuck in his rectum. The doctors involved in the matter were eventually forced to use their hands to remove the object that was inserted by the man. According to a Daily Mail report, the man had shoved the heavy piece of object in his rectum for “sexual gratification” and was uncooperative throughout the procedure.
Reportedly, the unidentified 54-year-old man tried to extract the 4lbs metal object on his own and failed to do so. After multiple unsuccessful attempts that lasted for two days, the man eventually sought medical attention. He took to an emergency room in Manaus with complaints of nausea and inability to defecate properly.
The doctors took a closer look at the man’s complaints and were surprised to find no signs that may have caused these symptoms. They soon made the man undergo X-Ray and were shocked to see the findings.
The reports showed that there was a dumbbell lodged in a place where the rectum and colon meet. Further, it was discovered that the object was nearly 8-inches long.
The Facts of the Matter
The pursuit of pleasure often takes a person to some painful and embarrassing places. In the process of achieving instant gratification of any kind, people often take the strangest measures that eventually backfire badly.
A similar instance was reported from Brazil where a man reportedly shoved a 2kg dumbbell in his rectum. The case was brought to light in a paper published earlier last week in the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports.
Brazil Man Rushes to Emergency
Reportedly, the unidentified 54-year Brazilian man rushed to the emergency room in a Manaus hospital after failing to remove the metal object for two days. He complained of suffering from multiple symptoms, including abdominal pain, nausea, and inability to defecate.
X-Ray Shows Shocking Results
The doctors made the patient undergo some preliminary examinations which showed no reasons for the man to be suffering with such symptoms. The doctors then decided to make the man undergo an x-ray and were shocked to see the findings.

8-inch, 2kg Dumbbell Stuck in Rectum
The X-Ray showed an 8-inch dumbbell stuck in a place where the man’s rectum and colon met. The doctors also identified that the curious case of dumbbell was of “sexual nature”. They decided to act quickly to avoid any further complications in the already complex case.
One Last Option Remained with Doctors
The doctors made use of tweezers initially to pull the dumbbell out. Meanwhile, the patient, who remained uncooperative, was given sedative to simplify the ordeal. The tweezer-way wasn’t all that successful and the doctors remained with one last option.
Opting for a “manual extraction” the doctor involved in the case reached deep in the man’s privates and pulled out the metal object. Fortunately, the procedure was successful and the ‘thrill-seeker’ was discharged a few days after recovery.
According to reports, patients who rush to the emergency rooms with complaints of objects stuck in their rectum are men, aged between 20 to 40 with sexual gratification being the most common reason.

Similar Incident was Reported from Tunisia
Earlier in March this year, a Tunisian woman, who complained of suffering with UTI (urinary tract infection) stunned the doctors. After she was made to undergo some tests, it was revealed that the woman’s bladder had a full-size glass tumbler inside it. Further, the glass tumbler had an encasing of bladder stone as large as 8cm.
