Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan announced being injured during the Project K shoot, with damage to his rib cartilage. The 80-year-old took to his blog to inform his fans and media about the recent ordeal he had to endure, and its immediate consequences, which has left him unable to breath properly. This is not the first time Mr Bachchan has endured a serious injury during a film shoot.

“In Hyderabad at the shoot for Project K, during an action shot, I have got injured .. rib cartilage popped broke and muscle tear to the right rib cage .. canceled shoot .. did Doctor consult and scan by CT at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad and flown back home .. strapping has been done and rest been advocated .. yes painful .. on movement and breathing .. will take some weeks they say before some normalisation will occur .. some medication is on also for pain .. “ the actor announced on his blog.

After consulting a doctor and undergoing a CT scan at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad, the actor returned to Mumbai to recuperate at his home Jalsa. The doctors have advised him rest as the injury will take at least a few weeks to heal.

Bachchan also revealed that he would not be able to meet his fans at Jalsa due to his injury.

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan recently suffered an injury on the sets of the upcoming Nag Ashwin film, Project K. In a blog post, the veteran actor confirmed that he suffered a rib cartilage injury and a muscle tear near it during an action shot in Hyderabad.

The 80-year-old has since returned to his home in Mumbai to recuperate, with doctors advising him to take rest as the injury will take a few weeks to heal. The actor also shared that all work on the film has been suspended and postponed until his recovery.

Mr Bachchan, who often takes to his blog on Tumblr to give crucial updates from his life, once again took to the platform earlier on Sunday to inform his fans about the injury.

Shoot Suspended, Fans Asked Not to Come to Jalsa

The senior actor also said that the remaining work for the shoot has been suspended following the accident, and the postponement would remain in place till he heals. He also expressed his disappointment in not being able to meet his fans who are known to swarm outside his Mumbai-residence Jalsa.

“I rest at Jalsa and am mobile a bit for all the essential activities .. but yes in rest and generally lying around. It shall be difficult or let me say .. I shall be unable to meet, the well wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening .. so do not come .. and do inform as much as you can to those that intend coming .. All else is well (sic).”

When Amitabh Bachchan Got Injured During ‘Coolie’ Shoot

It should be noted that this is not the first time the Deewar actor was left seriously injured during a film shoot.

During the shooting of the film “Coolie” in 1982, Amitabh Bachchan suffered a serious injury while performing his own stunts. He mistimed a jump and was rushed to St. Philomena’s Hospital in an unconscious state, with his life hanging in the balance. After being flown to Mumbai and admitted to Breach Candy Hospital, Bachchan underwent several surgeries and remained critically ill for several months.
