In the Brooklyn subway shooting that has rocked the USA, at least 33 people have been reported injured. Further, cops also recovered unexploded devices at the New York City subway station.
The incident transpired earlier on 8:30 AM (local time) when the New York Fire Department was alerted and personnel rushed to the 36th Street subway station in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The personnel were initially alerted with a report of smoke coming from the subway station.
Preliminary reports have confirmed that a gas-mask wearing male suspect fled the scene of crime after wreaking havoc. Till the time of writing this article, no arrests were reported by major outlets. The shooter, possibly a lone wolf, opened fire inside a train car where eight commuters were reported to have fallen prey to the gunman.
Harrowing visuals making its way on social media showed terrified commuters scrambling to find a safe corner. Some pictures also showed passengers bleeding from wounds, leaving the train and jumping on another train.

Another gun-related tragedy was reported from Brooklyn, New York Today. On Tuesday morning (local time), several persons were reported gunned down at a busy subway station in Brooklyn. Images making its way on social media showed local commuters smeared with blood scrambling for safety while some passengers trying to help them. So far, 33 people have been reported injured due to the incident.
Unexploded Devices Found at Brooklyn Subway
Meanwhile, local media also reported that unexploded devices were found at the crime scene which led to metros leaving and departing at the rush hour getting stalled. The New York Police Department initially released a brief advisory that read – “Due to an investigation, avoid the area of 36th Street and 4th Avenue area in Brooklyn. Expect emergency vehicles and delays in the surrounding area.”
The NYPD’s official handle on Twitter also issued a statement regarding the matter that read – “In regard to the multiple people shot at the 36th Street subway station in Brooklyn, there are NO active explosive devices at this time. Any witnesses are asked to call @NYPDTips at #800577TIPS. Please stay clear of the area. More provided information when available”.

According to reports, the incident took place sometime around 8.30 am (local time). Fire department personnel were rushed to the subway station after they were alerted with a report of smoke. It was later revealed that the accused, suspected to be a lone wolf, opened fire in a moving train car on 8 commuters.

The train stopped at the 25th Street station and locals told the media that they saw green coloured smoke coming out of the subway door. The incident resulted into a minor stampede like situation where a passenger who was standing in the metro, fell out of the train and then was taken to safety by other passengers. Distressing visuals on Twitter also showed bleeding commuters lying on the platform, waiting to receive help while other passengers frantically looking for a safe space.

Meanwhile, the White House press secretary issued a statement regarding US President Joe Biden being briefed about the incident. “President Biden has been briefed on the latest developments regarding the New York City subway shooting. White House senior staff are in touch with Mayor Adams and Police Commissioner Sewell to offer any assistance as needed.
