Details
Indian cops are often smeared with allegations of corruption, brutality and more, but there are times when police are also on the receiving end of citizens being brash. From using their contacts to bypass allegations by police, to making a scene while abusing law enforcement doing their job, people sometimes turn the tables and try taking law in their hands.
Earlier on August 15, a Punjab based policeman was ran over a car that was stopped for checking. the car – in an attempt to evade the police – dragged the police and ran over him to later flee and drive away.
From the Eyes of the Cam
The entire ordeal was caught on cam. In the video shared by the news agency ANI, a turbaned police man tries to stop a white car. The car then goes on to increase its speed and first hits the hard-working police man’s legs. The policeman, in an attempt to balance himself, holds the bonnet of the car.
Any person with some moral sense would slow their car down, but the driver threw all the civil sense aside and continued with the same speed. The policeman in a frenzy moves aside to save himself and the car increases its speed.
Policeman’s Head Smashes in Mirror
The policeman’s head then smashes into the car’s rear-view mirror and he can be seen falling on the ground. Such was the intensity of the incident that a black flag which was placed on rear-front came off.
In the video, vehicles can be seen parked in the area and people don’t come instantly to help the policeman. Due to the immediate shock of the incident and the knock of not getting caught up in a hard place, the people are seen standing in disbelief.
DSP Gives Statement
After the incident, news agency ANI quoted DSP City Hemant Sharma, “The car driver dragged the police personnel along with the car to evade checking. The car has been traced and further investigation is underway.”
