Amidst the on-going pandemic, the CBSE class 12, 2021 exams have been cancelled, to which netizens thanked PM Narendra Modi. PM Modi announced after addressing a crucial meeting on Class 12 board exams today evening.
According to PM Modi, the decision on the Class 12 CBSE board exams had been taken in the interest of students due to the unsure situation caused due to the pandemic. The PM was briefed about all the possible options for Class 12 students which were proposed on different levels.
A meeting was held on today from 5:30 pm to discuss the future of the CBSE and other state board exams during the pandemic. Officials held a detailed presentation on the wide and excessive consultation held so far and views received from all stakeholders, including the state governments.
Compilation of the result & its criteria
PM Modi with Union Ministers and other officials discussed that CBSE will take steps to compile the results of Class 12 students as per a “well-defined objective criteria” in a time-bound manner. PM Modi said that, “Class XII results will be made as per well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner.”
PM Modi’s take on the cancellation
PM Narendra Modi declared the cancellation of class 12 board exams this year due to the rising pandemic situation. In a tweet, he stated that, “Government of India has decided to cancel the Class XII CBSE Board Exams. After extensive consultations, we have taken a decision that is student-friendly, one that safeguards the health as well as future of our youth.”
Adding to it he said that, “The health and safety of our students is of utmost importance and there would be no compromise on this aspect,”. He said in this pandemic time, such examinations cannot be the reason to put our youth at risk.

The Prime Minister also mentioned that the decision on Class 12 CBSE exams has been taken in the interest of students. He stated that coronavirus has affected the academic process and the issue of Board Exams has been causing immense anxiety among students, parents and teachers, which had to be put an end to.
It has also been decided that if some students wants to appear for their class 12 board exams, then such an option would be provided to them once the current situation becomes back to normal. As per reports on the CBSE class 12 exam formats, an average of the last 3 internals will be considered.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an important meeting regarding the view of Class 12 Board Examinations on 1st June evening. Alongside PM Modi, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Prakash Javadekar and CBSE chairman are also present at the key meeting.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that, “I am glad 12th exams have been cancelled. All of us were very worried about the health and stress of our children, its a big relief.”
