As the trend picked up, several prominent Twitter handles, such as UP Police, I&B’s India Fights COVID-19 and other pages featured Chellam Sir. UP Police rode on the wave of Chellam Sir memes and tweeted, “112, A 24/7 solution for every family in crisis, an all-weather helpline, a true saviour for all seasons!”

Along with the Tweet, the UP Police posted a collage pictures in which news articles about UP Police’s efficient work was featured.

To this the creator-duo of Family Man Raj & DK appreciated the sense of humour of UP Police and Manoj Bajpayee, who plays the main protagonist in the series tweeted “Chellum sir is a Rockstar!!!”

Chellam Sir asks Shrikant to take vaccine ASAP

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s twitter handle for India fights Corona also shared a timely and funny Chellam sir meme. In the meme, Shrikant aka Manoj Bajpayee is seen asking Chellam Sir as to which vaccine he should get. To this, he gets a reply from Chellam sir – “Wrong question. All vaccines are safe. You should answer when you should get vaccinated. The answer is as soon as possible.”

Chellam Sir is played by Uday Mahesh, a Tamil film actor and director. In the second season of the Family Man, Chellam or Chellam sir plays an important aid to Srikant who is the protagonist of the show. Chellam is known by the TASC (Threat Analysis and Surveillance) Force as the most cautious person of the intelligence force.

Although the Family Man boasts a star cast of Manoj Bajpayee, Priyamani, Samantha Akkineni, it is the small role of Chellam sir that appears for roughly 15 minutes that has captured the imagination of the viewers. While some viewers are comparing Chellam sir to the likes of Saul Goodman and Mike Ehrmantraut from Breaking Bad, other viewers are so enthralled by his character that they are demanding a spin-off series which will feature the character.
