The Tamil Nadu police have arrested a self-proclaimed social media influencer, Aneesh Kumari, for stealing cash and jewelry from a locked house. Kumari’s obsession with projecting an image of wealth and extravagance on social media through her daily life reels has led her down a path of destruction.
When the owner of the robbed home found her valuables stolen, she raised a complaint, based on which an investigation was launched. The police were quick to track down Kumari, thanks to their tireless efforts and advanced technology. They sifted through over thirty CCTV cameras in the area and zeroed in on a scooter without a number plate, leading them straight to Kumari’s doorstep.
The accused took out the gold chains from her refrigerator and handed them over to the police. Kumari was produced before a magistrate and remanded to custody. . Kumari even requested the police not to release her photograph to the media, as it would damage her reputation among her followers.

The 33-year-old Aneesh Kumari, hailing from Chennai, had been leading a life of glamour and luxury, showcasing it all on her social media handles. However, her greed for money to sustain her lavish lifestyle drove her to commit a heinous crime.
Aneesh made her way through the house in Buddhar Nagar, a quiet suburb in Perungalathur, looking for anything valuable that she could steal. She found three sovereign gold chains and Rs 10,000 in cash and made off with her ill-gotten gains, thinking she had gotten away with the perfect crime.

House Owners File Complaint
However, her luck soon ran out. The owners of the house, a couple named Malathy and her husband, returned home to find their valuables missing. They immediately reported the theft to the police, who launched a massive investigation, scouring the area for clues.
The police watched hours of CCTV footage, and finally, their efforts paid off when they spotted a scooter without a number plate parked outside the house. They traced it back to Aneesh and arrested her.

The police recovered the stolen gold chains from Aneesh’s refrigerator, and she was promptly arrested and produced before a magistrate. Her glamorous life was over, and she now faced the harsh reality of the consequences of her actions.
She also asked the cops to not release her picture to media, as it would “damage her reputation” as an influencer.
