China, one of the biggest armed forces in the world, has recently displayed the world, its new hypersonic ballistic nuclear missile for the first time. As per the reports, it is the strongest missile in the world as not only can it carry many nuclear weapons but it can carry them to the longest distance that any missile ever could and it can also breach all US anti-missile systems.
China is one of the largest countries in the world and has the largest number of population in the world. The country’s governance is ruled by ‘People’s Republic of China’, a political party set up around 70 years ago which has been ruling the country since then. Amidst the trade conflicts going on between the two biggest economies of the world, China has for the first time displayed a new hypersonic ballistic nuclear missile. As per the reports, the missile is capable of breaching all existing anti-missile shields deployed by the United States.
China’s hypersonic ballistic missile DF-17 (Dongfeng-17) was displayed for the first time during China’s Military Parade and was the centre of attraction. As per the experts, the missile is a nuclear gilder designed to evade missile tracking systems.
This Parade was conducted to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The communist party celebrated its 70th anniversary with a Military cum cultural parade in Beijing.
The military showed off China’s most advanced weapons, including missiles, tanks, weaponry, troops and much more. Many of these things were shown for the first time, as rows of soldiers marched in lockstep past President Xi Jinping and other leaders in Tiananmen Square, the country’s symbolic political heart in Beijing. Spectators came in thousands & waved Chinese flags while fighter jets flew low overhead.
Apart from this, China’s other powerful weapon; DF-41 (Dongfeng-41) was also put on display. DF-41 is an intercontinental ballistic missile which has a range between 12,000 and 15,000 kilometres. It is reported to be the longest-range missile in the world to ever exist. The missile is capable of carrying 10 nuclear warheads which can hit 10 different targets. It has a reach to hit the target situated at distance as far as the United States and that too in just 30 minutes.
“They have highly advanced capabilities and the range to reach the United States from mainland China,” said Nozomu Yoshitomi. He is a professor at Japan’s Nihon University and a retired major general of Japan’s Ground Self-Defence Force.
China also featured its JL-2 submarine-launched strategic missile, which is believed to be standard weaponry for China’s nuclear-powered subs. Another great missile showcased by Chinese troops during the parade was CJ-100 Cruise Missile which is embodied on naval ships.
Yoshitomi added, “Also, this is probably the first time they have shown us JL-2 submarine-launched ballistic missiles in a parade. They don’t have the range to reach the United States from waters around China, but they demonstrate China’s second-strike capability.”
The President of the country, Xi Jinping gave a speech during the event in which he said, “No force can shake the status of our great motherland, and no force can stop the progress of the Chinese people and the Chinese nation.”
In Washington, A senior Pentagon official from Washington described the parade as ‘appeared to be largely in line with expectations’.
“We’ll do the post-game analysis on it but I think it is in line with expectations,” said Randall Schriver, who leads Asia policy at the U.S. Defence Department.
The Parade not only displayed their high powered weaponry but also displayed their culture. After the military parade, dancers and floats lauding China’s history, achievements, and regions passed by, along with portraits of China’s previous leaders and Xi himself, which drew loud cheers.
China’s PLA has the world’s biggest military with encompassing 2 million men and women in uniform. The parade was focused on the display of long-range weapons & missiles. It is an agenda of the party to reflect to set up dominance in the region amongst Taiwan, the South China Sea and other disputed territories to displace United States’s dominance.
