In matters pertaining to Chinese threat, China has reportedly continued increasing presence across Ladakh. It has further sent aircraft over Taiwan’s defence zones. The two reports may seem unrelated to each other. But it is a testimony of the increasing aggression of the Chinese superpower over the entire Indo-Pacific region.
Meanwhile, newly appointed IAF chief, V.R. Chaudhari has assured that IAF is “fully deployed and prepared”. He further added that increased Chinese activity will not matter much for the IAF.

The Facts of the Matter
After several rounds of talks between India and People Liberation Army (PLA) ending in stalemate, it’s reported that China’s PLA have increased their presence. The Chinese front have raised further presence across eastern Ladakh in order to assert more pressure. The development was reported by the newly appointed IAF chief, V.R. Chaudhari.
“Increased Chinese Presence Continues”: IAF Chief Speaks to Media
The IAF chief’s tense statement came when he was speaking to media at the 89th anniversary of the IAF. The IAF chief also assured people that the air force is completely deployed and prepared to combat and Chinese threats.
“Increased Chinese PLAF presence across eastern Ladakh continues. Infrastructure development has increased in China. But this is not going to make much of a difference as far as the IAF is concerned,” the IAF chief was quoted in an India Today report.
The extent of how much China has increased its presence is still confidential. However, IAF chief claims that the PLA’s Air Force has increased its presence at multiple air fields across the LAC that divides the two countries.

PLA Sets Up New Shelters for Troops in Ladakh
Earlier on September 28, it was reported that China has set up shelters for its troops near the LAC in eastern Ladakh. Interestingly, China has set up the shelters on multiple high-altitude areas near the LAC. Their setting up comes as a retaliation to the deployment of the Indian troops in the same region.
Indian troops are familiar with the terrain and the area. But the place will likely pose a challenge to the Chinese troops as they are forced to take shelter in area they are unfamiliar with.
China’s Attempt at Dominating Taiwan Continues
Meanwhile, China is continuing to assert its dominance on Taiwan. The nuclear-warhead controlling country sent a slew of military airplanes in the Taiwan’s defence zones. Reportedly as many as 16 jets scrambled and entered the Taiwan airspace on October 3. What makes the event truly alarming is that earlier on October 2, China had sent as many as 39 military jets on Taiwan space.

“Provocative Military Activity”: US Not Happy with China’s Move
China’s move did not sit well with the USA who condemned the act. Ned Price from the Washington DC issued a statement saying that US was “concerned” on China’s “provocative military activity”. The statement further added that it is “destabilizing, risks miscalculations, and undermines regional peace and stability”.
For the unversed, China considers Taiwan as part of its territory and considers the country an illegitimate province.
