In a startling incident reported from Tamil Nadu, a Class 12 girl reportedly gave birth to a baby in washroom and ended up throwing the newborn in bushes near her school. Following the alert, a police team reached the school and sent the body of the newborn to the Kamaraj Government Hospital in Chidambaram for postmortem. The police have so far theorized that a school girl gave birth to a newborn in the school restroom and threw it in the bushes.

Following the interrogation, a girl confessed giving birth to the newborn and throwing the baby in bushes. Further investigation led the police to the girl’s alleged boyfriend, who was responsible for the girl’s pregnancy. The minor was booked under relevant sections of the POCSO Act.
