GameStop, short selling, rally – you might have heard these words in the past few days, but still might be unsure as to what the big deal is about. GameStop, a game merchandise retailer saw a rapid increase in its stock value that set social media ablaze and surprised finance experts worldwide. The surge in the company’s value was such that the market cap of the company bumped up to more than $10 billion from just $2 billion in December 2020.

Her hilarious breakdown of the saga has gone viral and has garnered more than 3 million views worldwide. Not only has the comedian received viral acclaim but Elon Musk, who himself was behind the GameStop rally, commented on her video.
The video has Avalon explaining the ebbs and flows of the stock market world and it is titled “A normal person explains what’s happening on the stock market.” Avalon in the video introduces herself as someone who has “a pretty good understanding of the stock market.”
“I have been seeing a lot of people online who are like, ‘What is going on with the stock market? Is there anyone who can explain this in normal person terms?’ So I decided I wanted to do that. Because I own stocks, so I have a pretty good understanding of the stock market,” she says.
She rambles about how rich people having lots of ‘hedges’ around their houses trying to buy company stocks. Her video, might not be an accurate assessment of the entire saga, but it is enough to tickle one’s funny bone.

Musk wasn’t the only one who found this video hilarious. Here we have some other reactions Avalon received on her video:
No no no. They don’t have hedges around their houses. The hedges grow along Wall St. to stop their secretaries (SEC for short… who knows why they shout it) from bring able to peek in.

So what you’re saying is that the Gardeners’ Association got bested by a bookclub in a game of shrubbery acquisition because they picked paper instead of scissors? That’s what I thought, thanks.
