A man has been arrested in Delhi for allegedly duping over 50 women across six states in India by promising marriage. The accused, Mukeem Ayyub Khan, created fake profiles on matrimonial websites, posing as a senior officer in the Union home ministry.
Modus Operandi
Khan’s cunning scheme involved targeting wealthy women, often widows or divorced, and courting them for several months. He would build trust by meeting their families and fabricating stories about needing money for wedding expenses. The unsuspecting victims would then be convinced to pay for fake bills for hotels, travel, and jewelry.
