Microblogging social media platform Twitter is flooded with congratulatory tweets from celebrities like Kangana Ranaut, Nimtrat Kaur and more after the first phase of the vaccination drive was initiated.

Today is a historic day for the nation as the Prime Minister kicked off the Covid-19 vaccination drive for the biggest democracy in the world.  

 

The drive was initiated with frontline sanitation worker Manish Kumar was given the first jab of the vaccine  against the deadly Covid-19 virus in Delhi. Manish was administered the vaccine in the presence of Health Minister Harsh Vardhan. AIMS Director Dr. Randeep Gulreia also received the shot with Kumar. 

Microblogging social media website Twitter is filled with congratulatory messages from the netizens with the hashtag #LargestVaccineDrive. 

Sudarshan Pattnaik, who is famous for his sand art that depicts topical issues, created another sand art for the vaccine drive. The tweet soon went viral across Twitter. 

Actress and Padma Shree award recipient Kangana Ranaut quoted a tweet that featured AIIMS director receiving the shot and wrote- “Wonderful!! Can’t wait.” 

Critically acclaimed actress Nimrat Kaur too took to Twitter and wrote that she hoped that the vaccination drive would bring a “much-awaited” end to the Covid-19 pandemic. Kaur wrote, “Wishing the very best of luck to all the medics initiating the world’s #LargestVaccineDrive on this momentous day. May this be a smooth, successful beginning of the much awaited end. God speed!”   

Industrialist Vedant Birla congratulated the country on the vaccination drive and wished the vaccination to be an answer to all the suffering people endured during the pandemic.  

 Union Textile Minister and former actress Smriti Irani labeled the day as a historic one in one of her tweets. 

 The Indian arm of the philanthropic organization run by Bill and Melinda Gates called Gates Foundation India also congratulated India in its massive efforts and lauded health care experts, frontline workers along with the country’s government in their tweet.
