The National School of Drama alumnus also shared the certificate of his recent accomplishment. For the unversed, the actor hosted a police-procedural drama called Crime Patrol on Sony TV.

A surprising silver-lining of the COVID-19 induced lockdown was people being able to make the best of their boredom by pursuing new avenues. While some people decided to unwind and binged on Netflix shows, some decided to pursue their interests such as cooking, baking, writing or taking various certification courses on the internet.

Anup Soni – who has been widely popular for hosting the police procedural drama called Crime Patrol – too made the best of his time. The actor decided to peek behind the fictional world of criminal investigation and actually went on to take a certificate course related to Crime Scene Investigation.

“Decided to invest time into constructive”: Soni Takes to Twitter

The actor took to Twitter and shared his certificate and evoked appreciation from netizens. In his tweet, Soni wrote-

“Certificate course in “Crime Scene Investigation”. During the recent lockdown I decided to invest my time and energy into something more constructive. Yes it was extremely challenging, going back to ‘studies of some sort’. But definitely a choice that I am proud of.”

Soni Completed the Course from University Recognized by GoI

From the certificate, one can see that the actor and host completed the certificate course on July 17 from the apex forensic science institute called International Forensic Sciences Education Department. The university is recognized by the Government of India.

After the actor shared the tweet, netizens commented with heartfelt appreciation and lauded the actor for investing his time in the pursuit. Some netizens also cheekily asked Soni whether this is an after-effect of hosting Crime Patrol show.

The actor also shared the certificate on picture-sharing social media platform Instagram where celebrities, influencers lauded Soni for his achievement. Bollywood actor Raj Babbar’s daughter Juhi applauded with emojis while Marathi actress Bhagyashree Limaye, casting director Pragg Mehta also congratulated Soni for his feat.

How Anup Soni Made Crime Patrol Popular

For the unversed, Crime Patrol and Anup Soni are synonymous to each other. The actor started to host the show in 2010 and continued to do so for 8 next years. In the 8-years, the actor with his commanding voice and vigilant demeanor, made a mark for himself.

The actor’s popularity from the show reached to such an extent that his catchphrase from the show “Savdhaan rahe, Satark rahe (stay attentive, stay vigilant), became a household catchphrase for such conversations.

The actor decided to exit the show in 2018 saying he wanted to focus on his acting career in other projects. Since then, the show has been hosted by actress Sonali Kulkarni and Divyanka Tripathi with guest hosts.

Moreover, he will be seen in action-thriller Satyamev Jayate which will star John Abraham and Divya Kosla Kumar.
