The raids took place after Khatri’s name was mentioned by Achit Kumar, another accused in the case. Further, the NCB has also summoned Khatri to interrogate about his involvement in the matter.

As the cruise ship drug case progresses, name of more and more celebrities is making the rounds of news media. On October 9, it was reported that Imtiaz Khatri, a Bollywood producer, was raided by the Narcotics Control Bureau. The apex drug control body took cognizance of the situation when Khatri was mentioned by another accused Achit Kumar after he was arrested with the son of Shahrukh Khan – Aryan Khan.

Bollywood filmmaker Imtiaz Khatri’s residence and office was raided by NCB on October 9. Further, he is scheduled to appear before the apex drug control body today. He will be interrogated on his alleged involvement in the cruise ship drug case that has been garnering public attention and scrutiny.
Why Was Imtiaz Khatri Raided by NCB?
Reportedly, the Bollywood filmmaker has direct involvement with Arbaaz Merchant who was arrested on Sunday last week from a Goa-bound cruise ship. The arrest was made by the NCB after the drug body conducted a raid on the ship, receiving a tip-off that a rave party was happening on the ship. Along with Arbaz Merchant, son of the biggest Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan – Aryan Khan was also arrested by the NCB.

Imtiaz Khatri and The Sushant Singh Rajput Connection
What makes the ongoing cruise ship drug case a case of intertwined stories is the involvement of Imtiaz Khatri. Reportedly, Imtiaz Khatri’s name was in the limelight earlier in 2020 after the untimely death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
Last year, a lawyer called Ashok Saraogi called Khatri out on his alleged involvement in Rajput’s death. Saraogi was reportedly the lawyer of the late actor’s manager Shruti Modi. According to Mr. Saraogi, Khatri is the son of a famous Mumbai-based builder. Further, the lawyer also claimed that it was Khatri who supplied drug to the late actor and his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty.
In a WhatsApp chat that was investigated where Shruti Modi and Rajput spoke on procuring drugs. In the group chat, it was revealed that it was Rajput’s driver who got the drugs. There was also a reference of a ‘Bandra wala dost’ in the WhatsApp chat. According to Mr. Saraogi, the person referred was Imtiaz Khatri.

Imtiaz Khatri May Have Been Involved in Maharashtra Irrigation Scam
The lawyer had also claimed that if Imtiaz belonged to the same Khatri family that was involved in the Maharashtra irrigation scam than he must be investigated. He had also claimed that Imtiaz was summoned by the Bandra Police but no public records were maintained about the incident.
Further, Khatri’s was also taken by a BJP leader Ram Kadam. The BJP leader had claimed that it was Maharashtra government who was trying to save Imtiaz Khatri
Aryan Khan’s Weekend Plan – Staying Put in Jail
The popular actor’s son Aryan Khan’s weekend plan has been turned upside down where the 23-year-old will have to stay put in jail. The 23-year-old’s bail plea was rejected by a Mumbai court on October 8 on the “maintainability” of the plea.
