Growing up in Essex, Kent started his acting journey with early performances in a 2004 episode of the British comedy “Shameless,” followed by a role in the 2008 horror movie “Mirrors,” starring Kiefer Sutherland. He gained significant recognition with his appearance in the 2014 “Game of Thrones” Season 4 finale, where he portrayed a goatherd who showed Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke, the charred remains of his child, one of her dragons’ victims.
Darren Kent was among the attendees of the Raindance Film Festival’s Special Soiree held at The May Fair Hotel in London, England on August 20, 2019. His acting credits also include roles in the 2018-19 limited series “Les Miserables,” “EastEnders,” and his most recent scene-stealing, humorous role as a not-so-helpful reanimated corpse alongside Chris Pine in the movie “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.” Jonathan Goldstein, the movie’s director, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to pay homage to Kent. He referred to him as a “sweet, talented, funny actor” whose life was tragically cut short.
