New developments have emerged in the current Afghanistan conflict situation and according to reports, the daughter of Afghan ambassador was abducted & tortured in Pakistan. The daughter of the Afghanistan’s ambassador for Pakistan is currently under medical care after she was released.

So far, the Afghanistan government has not pressed claims on a particular group or individuals and no group has so far taken responsibility for the act.


The battle-torn land of Afghanistan is once again in the news after the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs claimed that the daughter of Afghan ambassador to Pakistan was abducted on July 16 and was severely tortured by a group of unknown people while she was on her way home in Islamabad.

This is how Afghanistan Envoy’s daughter was abducted

The woman in question is Silsila Alikhil, daughter of Najibullah Alikhil, was abducted in Islamabad while she was on her way home. She was making her way home after paying a visit to the Jinnah supermarket. As per the statement issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the daughter is now admitted to hospital and is receiving medical care after she was released.

Afghanistan Expresses Concerns over Safety of its Citizens in Pak

In the statement, the Afghanistan government contemned the act and went on to expressed concerns over the safety of their citizens who reside in Pakistan. The Afghanistan government said it-

“strongly condemns this heinous act and expresses its deep concern over the safety and security of diplomats, their families, and staff members of the Afghan political and consular missions in Pakistan.”

Further, the Afghanistan foreign ministry also urged the Pakistan government to identify the culprits behind the act and prosecute them “at the soonest time possible”.

“Identify and prosecute the perpetrators”

“While the Afghan ministry of foreign affairs is following the matter with the ministry of foreign affairs of Pakistan, we urge the Pakistani government to identify and prosecute the perpetrators at the soonest time possible,”

-it said.

Further, the Afghanistan government urged Pakistan to make sure that the Afghanistan embassy and its staff, diplomats and consulates are fully secure.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls the Government of Pakistan to take immediate necessary actions to ensure full security of the Afghan Embassy and Consulates as well as the immunity of the country’s diplomats and their families in accordance with international treaties and conventions,”

-said the Afghanistan government in its statement.

What’s the conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan?

After the war-torn Afghanistan saw the power vacuum caused due to the absence of US Troops, the Taliban has wreaked havoc in the country and have gained controlled over multiple borders and provinces. A one third of the country has already been taken under control.

The Afghanistan government has come forward and outrightly accused Pakistan of harbouring Taliban and supporting them. On Thursday, the Vice President Amrullah Saleh accused Pakistan that its Air Force provided air support to the Taliban.

In a tweet, Saleh claimed-

“The Pakistan Air Force has issued official warning to the Afghan Army and Air Force that any move to dislodge the Taliban from Spin Boldak area will be faced and repelled by the Pakistan Air Force.”

Further, the Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani too said that the Pakistan government has let militants cross its country to Afghanistan. Ghani accused that over 10,000 Jihadi fighters came to Afghanistan from Pakistan and claimed that Taliban militants were treated in Pakistan after the clashes with Afghanistan forces.
