On July 26, 2023, the world mourned the death of Sinéad O’Connor at the age of 56. The iconic Irish singer and songwriter, famous for the hit single “Nothing Compares 2 U”, was greatly missed. She left behind devastated family and friends who requested privacy during this very difficult time, as reported by Irish broadcaster RTE.

Beginning her music journey in the 1980s, Sinéad O’Connor was born in Dublin on December 8, 1966. In 1990, she released her second album, “I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got,” including her rendition of the Prince song “Nothing Compares 2 U.”

In 2017, O’Connor changed her name to Magda Davitt, and subsequently to Shuhada’ Sadaqat a year later. Over the course of four marriages, she had four children; tragically, her son Shane passed away in 2022.
