New age pace-expert Deepak Chahar proposed to Jaya Bhardwaj after match against Punjab Kings. Further, Dhoni reportedly advised on the proposal, making Deepak Chahar’s evening an unforgettable one.
According to reports, Deepak and Jaya were in a relationship for quite some time. Deepak had earlier wanted to propose to Jaya during the IPL’s playoff stage. However, it was his team captain M.S. Dhoni who suggested to wait and propose on the last league game of the Chennai Super Kings.

On October 7, Chennai Super Kings locked horns with Punjab Kings. While CSK lost to PBKS by 6 wickets, team’s fast bowler Deepak Chahar gave his teammates a reason to smile. As the game ended and the player retreated to their dressing room, Chahar took a different trajectory.
Chahar Heads to Stands Instead of Dressing Room
The 29-year-old Jat bowler ran straight to the stands, catching everyone by surprise. The cameras tried following Chahar and everyone looked at the happenings with anticipation. Soon, fans of Chahar and CSK were beaming with joy as visuals of Chahar proposing to his girlfriend started making rounds.
On One Knee, Chahar Professes Love
In the video shared by Chahar himself, people can see Chahar getting on one knee with a ring in his hand. Meanwhile his lady love stood shocked and had both of her hands on her face, trying to contain the excitement. Dressed in a black dress, Jaya Bharadwaj accepted the proposal of his cricketer boyfriend and the lovebirds held each other in an endearing hug.

CSK Gives Warm Welcome to Chahar
After the cute proposal, the couple was given a warm welcome from Chennai Super Kings. In a video shared on social media by the Dhoni led team, applauded for the couple as they entered the hotel. Deepak was surrounded by his teammates including Suresh Raina, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo and more.
The couple soon cut the cake and thus began celebration. In a playful banter, Chahar’s teammates held Chahar by his legs and arms and applied cake all over his face. Jaya on the other hand can be seen hugging her friends and acquaintances.

Chahar Postponed Proposal on MSD’s Advice
Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar’s father, Mr. Lokendra Chahar spoke about the incident in some detail. According to Crictracker, Deepak wanted to propose to his girlfriend since quite some time. The fast bowler had planned a proposal during the playoff stage of the league. However, his captain MS Dhoni suggested otherwise and Chahar postponed the proposal to the last league game of his team.
