A Delhi-based girl was killed on New Year’s Eve after being dragged by a car for 4 km for an hour. New CCTV footage surfacing on social media shows the woman being dragged by the car sometime around 3.30 am in Delhi’s Sultanpuri, and the victim in the incident was identified as 20-year-old Anjali Singh. Anjali was an event organiser by profession, and had been returning from one of her organised events when the incident took place.
Hair-raising CCTV footage of the accident showed the accused driving a Maruti Suzuki Baleno who is somehow stuck under the car. In a second video of the accident, the accused driver of the car takes a U-turn, and instead of stopping their vehicle, continue to drive on with Anjali who was stuck beneath the vehicle and continued to be dragged for the next few kilometers.
According to reports, the driver and the occupants of the car were all in a drunken state while when the accident took place. The accused were identified as Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Krishan, Mithun and Manoj Mittal. They were all booked rash driving and causing death by negligence.
Given how the accused didn’t stop the car, the cops are investigating whether this is a case of death due to negligence or a murder.
The Facts of the Matter
On the New Year’s Eve in New Delhi, a horrific accident took place which ended in one 20-year-old woman’s death and her accused being put in judicial custody. The accident, which took place sometime around 3.30 am in Delhi’s Sultanpuri, took place when the accused’s car ran over the victim’s scooter, and then dragged the 20-year-old victim for the next 4 km for an hour beneath the car.
Following the incident, social media has been flooded with high-quality security cam footage showing the accused not only speeding their vehicle with the victim being dragged, but also taking a u-turn on the road despite the woman’s body beneath their car.

One of the videos surfacing shows the car moving on the dark road of Delhi with the victim’s body being dragged. In a second more high-quality video, the accused can be seen driving the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and taking a u-turn, while the victim’s body was still beneath the car, being dragged with no care.

How the Matter Came to Fore?
The matter came to the fore after the police received an alert sometime around 3.30 am where the caller mentioned a grey Baleno moving towards Qutubgarh dragging a body of a female victim. The caller was also able to communicate the registration number of the car, and clear instructions were then given to all checkpoints to stop the car.
Sometime around 4.11 am, another call was made wherein the caller told police about a woman’s naked body lying on the road.

Eyewitness Gives Horrific Details
News agency ANI quoted eyewitness Deepak Dahiya saying, “It was 3:20 am…I was standing outside the shop when I heard a loud noise from a vehicle about 100 meters away. Earlier I thought it was a tire burst. As soon as the car moved, I saw a body being dragged. I informed the police immediately”.
Forensic team and a team of cops were rushed to the spot where the woman’s lifeless body rested, and the woman was rushed to SGM Hospital for post-mortem.

Accused Arrested
An investigation was soon launched to nab the culprits. Based on the registration plate of the car, the cops were able to trace the accused and arrest them. The accused were identified as Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Krishan, Mithun and Manoj Mittal. During questioning, the accused told cops that they thought the woman was able to get up after the accident, and hence didn’t consider stopping the vehicle.
